I'm very similar to yourself, 10 years in Eve, however have very little time to apply myself to the game as it is now.

When i started it was a fresh new game, this was great for a few years, then it has gradually changed, it should change, but not in the way that made me want to play more etc.....

I made a trip to Iceland Fanfest few years ago and i sat next to the co-founder of Eve in a huge dark room with hundreds of Eve players listening to a talk from the CSM. No one even knew who he was, but what i gathered from what i saw is that over the last few years the Game has less input from the original developers, i guess they get older and have Families now etc, less time to nuture their baby etc......

Eve is still a fantastic game, to say there are no other games like it is correct, to say ther are no other games to compare it to, well ther are many now.

What i forget and many others who have played years is that the average play time for alot of gamers in MMORPG is only 4-6 months, so i guess Eve has to adapt to that.

The game that will take me away from Eve to try will be Elite Dangerous( with an Oculus Rift),

It is worth trying different games, and everyone has a different expirience of different games, so no one game is the same, but many are similar.

EVE Online is the Aston Martin and Chanel of MMOs.

Even if there are times when I don't play EVE for months, if not for years (although I do keep my accounts subscribed for SPs), whenever I think of EVE, I find the game synonymous to quality, elegance, and beauty.

EVE Online is no different to Vacheron Constantine or Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Patek Philippe's advertisement slogan comes to mind when I think of EVE; "You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation."

EVE Online is here to stay for generations after generations. It is up to us to keep the wheels greased.

Well I certainly have the feeling that things will change someday and that you'll all find a different game.

This is all speculation and I have no evidence to back up my claim, but most people don't know that.

But there are millions of dollars riding on my speculation so I'm going to follow the money.

Also EVE Valkyrie...

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?
