Hi,

Recently I have seen a lot of posts and people talking about IPH, other spreadsheets and their own spreadsheets, but never about eve manufacturing calc. Is this just a preference or is EMC not accurate?

If you're interested in micro-managing your industrial concerns, by all means use the numerous tools available or your own spreadsheet to learn how to make passive isk the hard way. But if you care to ascend to a management suite that encapsulates eight years of experience, please check out Eve Production Manager, which is in beta. My video is available here, and the beta program is in progress.

I used eve cost in the past but prefer to use my own figures. The issue I have with using most of the more favoured industry related sites, programs and spreadsheets is poor UI and info overload. Using my own sheets and calculations I can at least be confident i know how I got to a specific value and that it is the figure I actually need.

I agree with the comment above. I've used other programs, but have found that most try to cover AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, which makes it nice at times, but usually you ignore 90% of what's presented to you. I (obviously) prefer my own spreadsheets and have found that quite a few people agree with me. All-inclusive is nice...sometimes. But for everyday use, it's easier to have something simple that only gives you the info you need and presents it in a manner that doesn't hurt your eyes.

EDIT: One site I do like is http://zofu.no-ip.de/bpo. You can only look up one item at a time, but it's easy to read the data and there's not much extra stuff that you don't really care about.
