I've found some use for them on the utility highs of ships like the Rupture and Stabber. But then, you could also use those utility highs for neuts/nos, so yeah, RLML aren't a very attractive option anymore (but not useless).

Who said you had to "hang around?"

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Seriously. If you need to hang around to fire again, you're not using them properly.

The idea behind rapid lights is burst damage. Like the asb or saar. When used on the right hulls in the proper numbers they are horrifying.

Examples:

ruining the day of any inti pilot that is dumb enough to get within point range.

a pair of rlml caracals can break most active tanked cruisers in less than 60 sec

a web and 2 rlml can drive tackle off of your BC in a real hurry

Now stop sucking at eve

Edited because I suck at typing

A Caracal with RLM makes the SOE arc a breeze until the last name rat, then swap out to HM. They are wonderful at popping frigs.

tbh a cruiser will make the blood stained stars arc a joke regardless of weapons. I know i regularly snore through it in a frig with zero trouble.

what we need hear is ..... KIL2 to go live on twitch tv and show everybody how bad they are and criticise game mechanics like he has in the past.

Maybe ccp would finally take notice of peoples concerns , but then again.......when did they last do that?

They are good for some comedy killmails like the RLML Phoenix.

I've been grinding lvl 2's in Minmatar space, and I had pretty good luck with this RLML fit Bellicose. Hit the cruisers with the missiles and set the drones on the frigs. If you have missiles left after the cruisers are down, finish off the frigs with one-shots, and let the drones chew up the rest while you reload for the next mission. It's fine. Not max efficiency, but slightly less boring than a Caracal.

RLMLs may have some niche uses, but the drawback is simply too crippling, if you just barely kill something and are caught out on the 40 second reload, you're pretty much screwed and because of the unexpected variables in PvP you will find yourself in this situation very often. As for PvE, you will almost always have to reload multiple times which means your actual dps is very low, you're likely better off using HMs with rigor rigs rather than RLMLs for most types of PvE.

I think the new niche for the RLMLs is now more of a small gang weapon. Think 3 caracal for example all fitted to them or two fitted that way and one tanked and Webber. You could do some serious dmg real fast.

For me, one remedy to RLML is to increase the clip size. The old launcher had clip size of 70 iirc. Launchers' dps are buffed but suck at any engagement longer than a minute. They can decrease the ROF a bit and give a larger clip size. This way it still fits the idea of burst damage and gives it bit longer fighting time

Or you could just use HAMs which will do more damage and with 3 Caracals you can easily fit enough painters/webs to fully apply damage to everything. Unless you're planning on fighting a gang of inties or something that's not really a niche.

You do realize how many inti gangs are out there right now?

A full load of RLML won't kill a good Inty pilot, especially if he has links. To solve your problem, simply drop mobile depot, and drag missiles from cargo to launchers in fitting screen. Voila, instant RLML reload

If that works, that sounds like an exploit, or something that CCP will call one soon if it gets used a lot haha but i love it..... worth trying it out hah

You're a little late to the party on this. There is only about a dozen form posts saying this. They have become pretty useless in PVE and only good for specialized PVP.
