I've tried to quit EvE several times, because CCP does indeed so some really, really stupid & annoying shat at times.

I keep coming back because everything else is just another stupid WoW clone, and I hate WoW. I also don't care much for anime, at least in games, and sadly that's taken over everything except EvE as well. Luckily CCP would never stoop to adding that crap into EvE... ummm... right?

You mean that game that everyone is talking about but no one has actually played despite pouring god knows how many years and millions of dollars (over 30 at last count). Uh huh. You got to watch some cool videos though. CCP can make cool videos too.

I quit for a few months of every year so I can remember what fun games are like, then I come back to this because even though the gameplay/mechanics and netcode is generally trash it makes for some amazing stories.

I like to collect those stories and tell them to people who don't play so they are like 'Holy crap this game sounds amazing" then they play it and are like "oh ugh."

I think of it as the highest level of griefing.

I'm not leaving either. I may take a couple of days off as to passively accumulate more passive ISK while having a social life and not care about the next loss, as opposed to franticly PVE-ing to fund the next explosion. You guys are probably stuck with me untill the servers die, because an annual sub for the Donald Duck is more expensive and less interactive.

I have taken two breaks in 10 years. 1 was for a month to get married, the second was after my son. Before that I played eve 4-10 hours a day, depending on job, school, and much my wife (then gf) would let me before i got that 'get off you damn game now' stare, nearly every day. I am the definition of an addict, but meh. What the hell did I do for 10 hours? Mostly talking in corp, alliance, I did that for 3 years, recruited for 8, mined off and on for 4, ran pos; for 6. Broke blockades in the Kari pipe when I owned that part of providence for a year, yea, its fun. I played wow for an hour, hated it, guild wars for 10 min (hated it) star trek online for an hour (hated it) conan I saw but had no desire to try. *shrugs*


so tl;dr - your name is DaReaper and you're an EVE addict

Many times EVE does seem more like an addiction than a game so totally makes sense

as others have said, you have played nothing, you seen videos of random things they want to make. But have zero idea if there stuff will work when more then a handful of people play. Until SC is released to be tested, then you have no clue. Everyone had an e-hard ons for The Old Republic, and once released... well we all know how quickly they switched to F2P and became a non issue. Just like Star Trek Online, same thing, "oh its gonne be awesome!!!!" released "erm wait this sucks" Dark Prophecy, the list goes on and on. Until I have something to play, or I hear how other like playing it, then its a non issue. But hey, if you want to toss your money at a game that keeps adding random stuff instead of getting something to market and adding things later, that's your prerogative.

Anyway back to topic... i'm still playing. lol
