Alliance bookmarks

Greetings, habitants of a New Eden.

As you know, corporation bookmarks added in a Crucible made a lot of people happier, small and large corporations sighed with relief, and everyone almost forgot about taking BMs from a “can on a spot” ^_^. But EVE grows, and I think it`s time to ask or even require CCP to make an Alliance bookmarks.

The scheme should be identical to corp. bookmarks - folders, everyone with a director role can save such BMs, or maybe a new role should be added - something like "Alliance communications officer", everyone with the same or higher roles can modify alliance bookmarks.
The only thing i dunno is a minimal amount of Bms, because:
- a)I dunno how they affect server stability
- b)I dunno how much BMs people need. For example, for wormholler its enough to have 100-150 Bms (some spots+ holes\sigs scanned today), but if we speak about lowsec or nullsec guys - they have lots of stuff to save - 300 from every gate, Undock Bms, POSes, etc.

So, i`m calling a support for this thread. If you care about your Alliance, please like this post and support this thread.

Sincerely yours
CEO of Jedi Path
Dearleader.

Alliances are such namby pambies these days...
You dont need them. If you want a reason you can quote me on, WH space doesnt need any more incentive to blob up into alliances.

I think that next iteration should rather be contextual bookmarks. Something like you drag bookmark to mail edittor or chat window and everyone reading it might add or warp to this bookmark. This would make much more sense and bring some more UI comfort.

Even when I was in talocan, I didn't want alliance bookmarks. The corp with the shittiest security would compromise all our ops from the get go. Even alliance wide siggy was bad.

My entrenched spy alt army welcomes alliance bm.

Jack Jack Jack - you love all that is 'conflict driver' How do you not see this as the great idea that it is?? Lol

A better idea would be to make WH pop up the same way belts and anoms do. The whole issue would go away with just a slight change in the code. You should really only have to scan gas sites and ghost sites (the both start with 'g' for a reason). Delete the anal/hack sites all together as no one does them anymore.

And reason: Security and Comfort

In terms of Member growth, it can boost trust and independancy. Simple fact, you want to move in ... make your own corp and setup a tower .. no asset problems...

Established Alliances like Noho and Kill can share there BMs easier for better fleet manuvers ... and yaddi yaddi yaddi ...

Downside: Server LOAD for Large Scale Alliances ... like Goons ... that can take a while ... so its a technical error, if they can do some sort of Bookmark TiDi meaning CCP nerfing the propagating of bookmarks for huge member based alliances that would be cool but not really what most of Eve wants or understands with that .... sooo wierd issue... sadly...

During the first summit with CCP we have talked about Fleet bookmarks. So they do know. Fleet bookmarks are also on the CSM Reasonable things initiative. I for one dont think alliance bookmarks would solve the problem. It would be better to have above mentioned system where fleet or contact list can share bookmarks.

How about a new folder for corps in an alliance can put bms in that will share with the whole alliance. Then you could add and remove them at your leisure.

So besides supposed server demand, does anyone else see anything wrong with alliance BM's?

Blobing is not an issue for me, since there is an upper limit of how big a fleet can be in wh to hunt and kill. Seeding has the potential to field a null sec worthy blob, but i've never seen or heard of a 2000 man wh fleet.
