I can see where you're coming from. It'd be like training weapons in other MMO's... the more you whack an inanimate object, the more skilled you become with that weapon.

I've never played other MMO's, this would be like a traditional RPG experience mechanism, nothing more. People are already whacking inanimate objects in missions, but at least they are in space whilst they do so...more targets must be a good thing...

It wouldn't work and it goes against eve more. Capsule pilots of eve and their jacks in the back of there head allow for them to train as we do plugged in and uploaded. A good example is in one of the books a capsule pilot is loaded and when she awakes something went wrong and they had forgotten bow to pilot their bomber but would be good as new in a few days. :) Eve Lore is Law.

Yes it is actually. And I think he may be referring to a somewhat popular MMO by Blizzard. Perhaps you have played it?
