Splitting PI Items in 'Items'

Basic question: If I have a huge amount of PI resources in my station 'Items' locker, can I split each resource into smaller piles - or do I have to keep them stacked? Thanks.

You can split them.

Hold down shift, then drag the big stack and drop it. it'll ask how many you want to move.
