Next step: kill/suicide gank miners - loot them with another alt.
Profit AND tears.

But that's really not something i'm looking to do. NOT because i'm a miner myself too, but because you have to jump around for about 1-2 minutes before you can dock, to get away from Concord. So the whole "hit and run" aspect just seems like a cheap move.

You can not run away from Concord. They instantly warp scramble you the moment you go criminal. The guys you can run from are the regular faction police, and they'll annoy you regardless of whether you ganked once your security is low enough.

Standard operational protocol for ganking is:

1. Set up the gank, including coordination when fleets are involved for tougher targets.
2. Warp in and get in range if not already. Usually when multiple pilots are involved, one will be a scout who will not engage in combat but act as a warp beacon (and looter after gank).
3. Gank.
4. Sit there and let Concord do its thing. See if you can kill the gank target and his pod before they arrive.
5. Once you're a pod, then you may leave and Concord won't chase you.
6. Dock up and wait out the criminal timer since undocking in anything besides your pod while that is active will incur Concord wrath.

Aside from which avoiding Concord, no matter what trick you use to manage to pull it off, is a bannable exploit.

It has been that way for 6 or 7 years at least and is unlikely to ever change.

Thank you both!

I'm not fully understanding the benefit of suicide... Anything lol. I understand the concept and protocol, now. But, is the reward for ganking that good? For someone to purposely get blown up and podded? And from what it sounds like, "scouts" are the weak links. Only being used for a warp beacon and to salvage the aftermath. Kind of like a warehouse cleaner lol. Sadly, I was told I'd be a scout :(

And again about the character transfer... I got it. And thank you for explaining. But if I transfer my miner over to my PvP account, I'll have to plex. That's understood. But, if I want to sell him, I'll have to pay another plex to transfer him to the buyers account, correct? So, were you meaning for me to pick one or the other? As in, keep him or sell him. Because I don't think it would be wise to have to plex twice, if that's the case. Another thing... I have to pay a plex to transfer the character into the buyers account. So then, what's the average price of a 1.5 month old trained character? If a plex is worth 500-600 million isk, which I would be paying (in a sense) to transfer him, then what would I be getting in return? Someone is honestly willing to pay double the price of a plex, if not more? And I just redeemed my Buddy Program reward, which I chose the plex. So, I do have a plex to spare if the circumstances are right. As of right now, I'm just selling all my miner's stuff on the market, besides the ships. I figure the ships (worth a few million) would be a nice bonus for the buyer.

tl;dr read only the title.

I always like to suggest exploration to newbies - there's something for everyone in that, both for newbies and for veterans.

with exploration as a newbie you can either do data & relic sites or you can try scavenging, and later on when you've trained your skills high enough you can use battlecruisers or kiting drone boats for combat sites.
