And this is overpowered because ... why again?

What exactly are those laughing interceptor pilots doing, besides traveling in space?
... which kinda should be a given in a space game.

Eve is also a game about controlling space. If anyone can freely travel through it, then I can't really control it. Also, it is entirely possible to fly through space in a travel fit and then use your space yurt to refit to a combat fit. If you have the Cynosural skill trained to V, it is also easy to fit a cyno on an interceptor, and then bring all kinds of hate and discontent with you.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

If people did all that, they already kinda deserve to break through your warp bubble which requires considerably less planning to install.

It's not interceptors that are the problem, it's warp bubbles and the fact that people got used to them. Warp bubbles are the cheat in the game. Now you are complaining about interceptors breaking your loved cheat.

Warp bubbles are cheating now? Show me on the doll where the bad bubbles hurt you…

Don't get me wrong, I am all about attackers having ways to get around prepared defenses, or break through them. I prefer to see it take some thought, skill, or preparation. Having gate-to-gate travel without a care in the world is not what Eve should be about.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

This would actually be witty, if it wasn't copied from the other interceptor thread where it has been used against OP.

I'll let the Dude answer that.

A double remote sensor boosted EAF or interceptor is perfectly capable of locking inside of 2 seconds. Actually it has a locking time of about 1 second. Keres is nice because of its boosted scram range. But it is quite fragile. Inties are more durable than an EAF. The range bonused ones can scram out just past 12km if you overheat. With links things are better.

An interceptor that does not want to be caught (and is fit to not be caught), will not be caught.

However as in EVERYTHING in Eve there is a counter.
First, what is a speed fit interceptor's primary weakness?
Second, how do you kill things in Eve without locking them?

We have had some luck with sebo'ed stilettos accompanied by r'sebo and sebo'ed thrashers. You sure don't get a big percentage of them, but you do get some, with an added benefit of catching more cloaky ships too if they hesitate a bit or decloak too soon.

This is why they are imbalanced, you cant lock or bubble them if they want they always leave.

This is precisely what is wrong with them. They are like the old WCS-fitted combat ships (pre-WCS nerf) or the old nano ships - unless they want to engage, they cannot really be caught (unless they suck). I thought CCP had realized that this flavor of PVP was bad, but apparently they have forgotten that. It used to be that PVP required you to commit to a fight and that it took real skill to avoid being caught by a proper defense. Now you just warp gate-to-gate and laugh if you are properly fit.

As opposed to the old days where you just had to make your bookmarks in just the right place and get into alignment quickly?

Honestly, not that much has changed. And no, you were not "required" to commit to a PVP fight. They also didn't have Sabres and 6k inty's at every gate camp either ... Roll
