when beeing in a system and scanning down locations, and just combat and wormholes are left.
now leaving the system and reentering it at any given time (even instantly), the scanned locations appear as blank ones, as they never have been scanned down.

is there a way to prevent this?

short answer no.

Basically if u want to fly to them save them in bookmarks. If u want to rescan the system write down those id's (xxx-000) so that u know what u already scanned they dont change.

Save a bookmark when you have scanned the site down, and name it the site type and signature id, eg. 'ABC-123 - Guristas Hideout'.

When you reenter the system just synchronize the bookmarks with the result of the system scanner, and delete sites the are despawned and scan down newly spawned sites.

If you reenter the system after downtime, then all id's will have changed. Just set your probes to the smallest size and scan the bookmark locations, and synchronize the bookmarks with the scan results.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

I basically do pretty much the same thing. I don't rename the site bookmark or note down the sig ID, (never thought it mattered much but a good idea nonetheless).

However, like you when re-entering a system or after downtime I also set probes in formation to smallest radius, center on each bookmark and scan. If the site bookmark is still active, I select 'Ignore' in the scan box. If the site is despawned, I remove the bookmark. After rechecking all of those, I then scan down any new sigs in the system.

This is a major gripe for me. I cannot believe that "writing it down on paper" or bookmarking is the default strategy for this.

Even if there was an addon or something I wouldn't mind. I thought, as a new player, I was just missing something obvious.

It doesn't even make sense in the universe, my ship can't remember some text from 2 minutes ago?

Really disappointed.

make a bookmark or is that to much work?, it's players like you who are ruining this game.

No, it's apologists for lazy design that are ruining the game. His point is perfectly valid: how is it that the supercomputer at the heart of an incredibly advanced spaceship has no short term memory? Just like the super advanced computer in the ship also requires manually clicking "scan" to execute a d-scan. And, until recently, couldn't remember how to place probes in a formation. etc etc. It's just silly in the context of the level of tech in the lore.

Yeah everything needs to be dumbed down because our fair tale spaceship has a super computer, the ship also has a crew why do i even need to play this stupid game!?

it doesn't need a supercomputer. My laptop can remember these things.

I don't like making bookmarks because I don't want tons of the useless things. The ID's reset so they aren't even good for that.

Plus, I don't want to scan down each site. I scan until I see what it is and then stop. There is no reason that my ship can't remember that information for an hour or two.

I was hoping for these kinds of changes in odyssey. I was still hoping in Rubicon (we got some of what I wanted). I'm still waiting for this.
