Changing Output Location for Patching and Downloads?

Hello all,

My OS is installed on a solid state disk. My SSD only has so many writes to sectors before it goes defunct, so I'd like to extend the longevity as much as possible. When downloading test client patches using the auto-patcher, the download location will be on my OS drive- and the extracted files will also go into a folder on my SSD. I have the same problem when I download a full client install as well- the download will be defaulted to the ProgramData folder.

Is there any way to change the default locations so they don't touch the SSD?

As far as i know, this kind of behavior is handled by environmental variables.
%TEMP% and/or %TMP% might be what you are looking for (in windows).
echo %TEMP% will give you the current value.

Ah, yes! That is exactly the hint I needed. Now I am that much less ignorant of Windows. I have switched the output to a mechanical drive, and my SSD and I thank you!

Thanks Lek, still this option should be available from inside of launcher. i have exactly same problem aggravated by fact that my SSD (40Gb) doesn't have enough space to left over to download payloads onto. Since it's obvious I'm not the only one with the SSD related problem CCP should address this issue before it hits TQ and frustrated people turn to forums.
