i have looked and i didnt see a thread about this so here this is. it is slightly annoying that a sophisticated ship cant do the simplest of tasks of piloting around a object in space. sure it can compensate for other ships, but something as simple and obvious as an asteroid, the ship freaks out and slows to just above a full stop. you havent given us a decent self piloting chioce above double clicking a spot in space, so what the heck? too busy on new things? simple fixes like this would be much more appreciated than new ships and such, although those are nice too. you guys got a good thing going here, dont drop the ball by not fixing small, yet highly influential things like this

It's understandable that they haven't touch something as core to the game as ship manoeuvring, as it pretty much plays a role in everything you do in EVE. I doubt it would be as simple as tweaking numbers, and would probably require rewriting the entire system, of which is greatly more complex than adding in additional content.

Would be nice, but there are other things that need fixing first than a system that works, just not perfectly.

What if, for some unknown reason, you really want to BUMP into that object? Would such evasion logic hamper intentional collision? What is to differentiate an LCO from a ship? as far as he game is concerned, they all just spheres.

I think I'd rather have a ship that does EXACTLY what it was told to do and bumps the occasional roid or station extension than having a ship that starts to circle an asteroid 10 meters before it goes to warp (or any other unpleasant opportunity)...
