Where CCP has updated Eve to start to make use of the DX11 tools Nvidia have yet to update their profiles. As such this means the SLI compatibility bits DX1x in the profile is null (i.e. 0x00000000) and SLI will not work in DX11 mode.

Switching Eve to DX9 only will re-enable SLI (as DX9 and below compatibility bits are separate from DX1x). I have bug reported this to Nvidia last night and updated them as to my testing with the three most recent R331 drivers (all work in SLI under DX9 only Eve). I also bug reported last night as requested via Twitter by Explorer, unfortunately it seems I can no longer update my bug reports like I used to via the support portal. Any clues on that one?

As topic says, my SLI Config (2xNvidia GT650m) using latest drivers no more works under Win8 or Win8.1.

any help for me?

cheers

Brief update, I've received an email from the Nvidia support team that they are on this and should be out with the next WHQL driver update.

Recommend everyone does a "clean install" to make sure they get the updated profile. It's a checkbox when doing an advanced install that reinstalls every profile fresh (so might include performance updates for other games ... wait there are no other games ... Twisted )

Now if only I could find the thread about disabling the graphics part of an AMD A10 as that's causing a friend issues being a bit too eager and not letting her real gfx card do any work ...

Updated drivers are now available from Nvidia (332.21) with patch notes showing that a DX11 SLI profile has been added to the drivers. I'll be updating these this evening and checking it all works correctly but if anyone has already updated please update this thread to advise whether the profile is working or not.

NVidia GeForce Experince still doesnt show Eve Online as a profile.

NVidia GeForce Control panal, under manage 3D settings, has the EvE Online profile with its SLi setting in there.

Alt-tabbing is still the same in Dx11, black-screen laggy to either another clinet or desktop.

Alt-tabbing in Dx9 is still as it was, intant.

Still dont see a difference tbh. At least in quality of graphics, or performance ( except the alt-tab issue ) where is is much slower to its Dx9 counterpart.

I'm suspecting that Nvidia Experience panel is just another bloatware item. The CS rep's "suggestion" to check Experience for SLI profiles is misleading at best. Nvidia control panel is pretty much the only thing I check and a lot of games that are in Nvidia Experience have their own hardware detection and settings suggestion algorithms.

Unfortunately Adeena I'm not noticing the DX11 SLI issues you've been experiencing, alt-tab is exactly the same pace, and for the same settings (max everything except AA which gets stroppy with more than one client using it) I am showing more efficient GPU useage (for same settings the cores get loaded less)

At the moment other than DX11 is supposed to (and at least on my end does appear to) make more efficient use of the hardware at its disposal CCP hasn't utilised any of the DX11 graphics shinies (except possibly in character select screen). DX11 "shinies" are in the pipeline same as we had to wait a while for all the V3 items once the DX9 update (from something like DX6 I think) all those years back.

what AA setting do u have in EvE? ( or NVidia CP )? Mines currently on high, but may set it to low to see if that improves anything, but im not holding my breath.

Im also not the oly one expierencing the alt-tab issue, with an o/c i7 @4.5GHz, 2 GTX 580's, 16GB RAM all installed on an SSD, i shouldnt be having these issues Straight

EDIT: & this si the second time ive had to write this, cos of these damn socket closed errors!!

Furthermore, despite the socket being closed, eve voice contunues to work twhen the pop up box shows & screen darkens, & the browser still loads! WTH Evil

Eve functionality is split over more than 1 server, your connection to Eve voice is on another server IIRC and stays connected til the client drops out completely.

Adeena you have similar kit levels to me (o/c AMD 1090T @ 4.5GHz, dual GPU/single board GTX560Ti, 16GB RAM, OCZ SSD), I don't run any AA at all if I am multi-boxing, I found that even at it's lowest setting with AA running on three clients they would all stall down to 10-15fps, kill AA and the frame rate shot back up past 100fps (though I usually have V-Sync enabled, roll on G-SYNC monitors).

I can run one client on high AA as long as the other clients are have AA disabled, I use junction method of multiple clients. AA is set within the Eve client rather than Nvidia CP in my case.

Rroff is correct that Eve Voice is on another server, I think it might even be located where the voice technology company (can't remember their name) is based rather than at the main cluster in London.

ok, thats interesting to know. Which then brings me to these socket closed errors, EvE seriosuly shouldnt be d/c like this, if other things are working. something is broken here.

As for the AA, think thats something im going to have to switch off. thanks for the feedback Cool
