ship restrictions in missions...have a query

I found that some level 1 missions will not allow a assault frigate inside. I was wondering why, given that based on size of ship they should be allowed on all level 1 missions. By that reasoning it begs the question as to why other t2 ships are allowed in all level missions of the appropriate type such as marauders in level 4 missions. Just curious, anyone have a good reason?

To make the mission more challenging for you by forcing you to use weaker ships

To be honest, there isn't any good reason, because there is no consistency. When I first started running Sansha's missions I was below -2 with them after skills, so I had to do level I missions.....Lots of level I missions, before I ran those epic arc missions to boost my standings I had to have ran 300+ level I missions.

While the bulk of these missions were ran in a reaper, or a nemesis, the last 100 or so where ran in an AML tengu. Now, there just aren't very many of those missions that wouldn't allow my nemesis or tengu. If they want to make the missions harder, then surely all of these level I missions need to restricted. While It is pretty funny to do the missions meant for a frigate in a smartbombing battleship, it just doesn't make sense that you should be able to.

Yeah, because a well skilled T1 frigate cant pound out level 1s in a few minutes right?

When you are one shotting every rat you touch, you dont even need a T2 frig to blast through them as fast as your weapons will cycle. I don't see any reason for this T2 restriction because of that fact. Its not like you can really improve upon the mission times (much) or tank them any better. If you did the mission, and didnt die... then your tank is fine right?

I was running a bunch of level 1s in a hookbill.... there wasnt a single rat I didnt oneshot with the exception of an indy or something like that. Tanking them? I didnt even have to use my shield booster in most missions. I was running them so fast that in an hour of doing 1s without salvaging anything (and with terrible social skills - maybe 2-3 tops) I had made 10+ million isk. ON LEVEL 1S... and that was with hardly any SP in the rockets I had fitted, and level 3-4 missile support skills.

Get mission.
One shot everything with a 2.5s rate of fire.
Turn in mission.
Repeat.

So the T2 frig restriction seems silly to me, but at the same time... why not just spend a little coin and buy a T1 frig? It isnt like they are really that hard.

Why? Agents don't care how badly you out class your enemy and out classing seems to be a theme of this game. Missions don't need ship restrictions. They have a built in system to prevent abuse and that is you can gain more isk/lp by doing higher lv missions so other than standing grinds there is no point to do lower level missions in larger ships.

Also for 2/3 BS tend to waist more ammo at a higher cost. I just never seen a point to bring larger ships to smaller missions so don't see why restrictions are needed.
