Question on upgrading from a buddy trial to full using bought game time.
I am seeing on amazon a 30days of game time with a free ship. I know that if i buy a starter pack my buddy would not get his gift. But the question is, if i buy say the 30 Days of Game Time with Exclusive Ship, does that also cancel my buddy's gift or not?

Can someone confirm the following? I created an account with a 30 day extended trial code that I got at PAX East. If I now Upgrade it to a full account with a Eve Online: Commissioned Officer Edition code I will get another 30 days added to my current remaining trial days?

Also regarding the implant I receive, does it last for 30 days from imput or is it worthless if my account is over 30 days old when I get it?

so I'm wondering if I were to upgrade my account using plex or through the EVE account management my buddy would get his gift... would I THEN be able to add a CD key from amazon a few days later to get my "free" ship and items using that CD key...

I know I'm buying game time when I buy that from amazon so it would just add to the 30 days I already bought... what I don't want is my friend to get his gift then getting it taken away because I activated a CD key. I also don't want to buy from amazon if I can't use it.

thanks

If you want to upgrade an EVE Online trial account to a full account, you have several options and most of them are easily available at EVE Online’s Account Management section. While trial accounts in EVE Online allow a first solid game experience, the massive EVE Online Universe is much more accessible with a full account.

The first option to upgrade your trial account or to extend your account once the trial time has expired is by following these steps:

  1. Go to the EVE Online Account Management section and log in there with your username and password.
  2. Click the "Reactivate trial account" link and you will be taken to a page to select your payment method.
  3. Follow the steps at the payment method selection page to complete your payment and to register your account into a full account.

A second option to upgrade your trial account is available. You can simply activate a PLEX in game by right clicking on the PLEX icon, choose “Add Game Time to Account” from the pop-up menu and then click “Yes” on the confirmation question.

Trial users DO NOT need to purchase the game CD from a store or buy a new CD key, the trial subscription will simply be converted to a regular subscription.

If you have any questions or problems with upgrading your trial account, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly Customer Support Team which will gladly assist you!

I'm currently playing the trial version that has 2 characters on my account. I purchased a Starter Pack, which comes with a ship, some skills, and 30 days of game time. How does the activation process determine which character gets the extras? I want to make sure it goes to my active character, which is the one I've been leveling up.

I've been to the account management page. There is a place to enter my key, but I don't see any way to select which character I would like use with the extras.

Any help would be appreciated.

You wll get the option ingame to redeem any items. Press Esc and one of the buttons on the bottom of the window will say Redeem Items. You can choose which ones go to which character from there.

Hope this helps!

If i were to upgrade my trial account for the 1 month, does that mean each month i would get a recurring charge of 9.99 or does it mean i would pay £9.99 once and after a month i would have to re subscribe for another month. Is it possible to pay for 3 months in one go (£24 straight away) or would i have to pay £8 3 times. Or is it possible to start a 3 month subscription and pay £8 pounds for one month and then after you have paid for the first month cancel the subscription so you get rid of the recurring payments as well as having paid one pound less than I would have done if I had selected for one month straight away for 9.99?

I am sorry for this question, I am new to EVE Online but I find it strange that this is a subscription game, I have the trial account and it is addictive, can you sell items in game and the currency (ISK I believe) you get in game could this be converted to monthly payments or am I totally wrong

Well the subscription parts isnt weird. CCP has to pay their employees, develop new things for EVE and DUST514, develop EVE:Valkyrie and make some profit.

Without sub money EVE wouldnt have existed for 10 years.

As for using in game currency (ISK) to pay for gametime, yes that is possible. You buy a PLEX on the market and use that to add 30 days to your account.

Keep in mind it is other players that bought the PLEX from CCP and are reselling it you in game. Because of this the price of PLEX in game is valued on supply and demand (current prices at time of posting is between 600-650 million ISK).

Recurring subscriptions auto renew when you run out of game time with the same length as the previous ones.

If you take a longer then a month subscription. You pay all at the same time and also get added all paid time at 1 go. So if you buy a year sub, you pay for the entire year and you get 360 days of game time added on your account.

Edit:

If you dont want a recurring payment to rebill you when time runs out. You can cancel the recurring sub straight after paying and receiving the game time you paid for. Any time bought and added to an account stays there.

So, say you bought a 1 year sub but dont want to billed next year when it runs out. After buying the year you cancel the recurring subsription. This prevents rebilling but the year you bought will be yours, you just have to remember to buy more gametime a year from now when the account expires.

Are you logging in with the correct account? Maybe you have an old account still tied to the game? just a thought

I have an abstract question related to this:

I bought the collectors edition and it came with a 60 day new account card. When I put in the code I got the option to either use it on a new account in trial or to make one outright. I chose the second option and made a new account right there.

So... Do I still get the 14 trial days with that account I created, for a total of 74 days game time, or only 60 days?

What do you currently get for subscribing through eve online?

The website doesn't give a description, while stores like Amazon promise a lot. What gives?

I recently bought the Humble Bundle with 20 dollars and got the starter pack, the vanity pack and the PLEX. My account info says that I have received the humble bundle promotion codes and I have gotten my PLEX activated. Unfortunately, I have only received the Vanity pack rewards and have not yet received the PLEX or the starter pack's contents (materials, skill booster, and 30 days subscription). Am I doing something wrong or do I have to wait a bit for the package and PLEX injection?

Edit: Never mind. I re-read the rules and found out that the starter pack is incompatible with the buddy program (what I did). As I have gotten my PLEX, I assume I have now gotten everything I am eligible to get.

Helloooooo.
I made an account a few days ago, and I was about to upgrade from my trial, but I happened to be logged out and saw that is was $10 per month to subscribe AND make an account.
But subscribing from a trial costs $15 per month. Is there any reason why that is? And had I known I could have gotten it for $10 if I didn't make a trial account, I would have done that (although I did so much in my trial I'd rather not start over).

And in regards to all of that, is the $10 just the first month or every month?
All of this is in terms of the one month at a time fee, because that'll be what I'll be doing.

...so after 2 years away New Eden has managed to draw me back in again! Pirate

The toon I'm posting this with is a trial acc. and his trial time is up in 2 days. I wanted to try a new toon out and also reacquaint myself with the UI, etc. before diving back in with my old acc.

Thing is... I like this new guy too. And now I want to keep him going also. I've seen the 'power of 2' offer which seems like a good deal;

https://secure.eveonline.com/SecondaryAccountSignup/

...but that seems only to apply to a NEW, new acc.

Just wondering if there are any special payment options for running 2 existing acc.s. (Any shiny stuff included free would also be v.much appreciated!)

Nice topic, thank you for the useful information.

I played EvE for some time 5 years ago, but I can see now many things changed.
Although I spend my free time playing Starpoint Gemini 2, which is a really cool space sim, I still like the MMO element in EvE and a nice community. :)

I grew up on games like Wing Commander, Freelancer...

Nice to be here again. :)
