I don't see any arguments regarding balance in the CEO update. If anything his (and the other relevant directors') willingness to subsidize a carrier for anyone who could fly one should have been an indication that something was a little off whack. In any case GSF never used them often enough to continue the program.

I'm sorry that your coalition's viewpoint is poorly represented on TMC but maybe you should focus on recruiting literate players and not just whoever has a supercapital and a pulse

It's not that the article is wrong, it's that it is a thinly veiled attempt to nerf slowcats given the inability to counter them.

And it's not about whether drone assist is imbalanced or too easily abused, it's about how CCP is going to rectify the situation without appearing to play favorites and without screwing over players who are relying on, and have heavily invested in a valid game mechanic.

It should be interesting to see how CCP handles the situation.

So the goon carrier program failed, while others managed to build the op carrier fleet your tried to build... so now you want carriers nerfed, it makes sense.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Who said it failed? The point is we're not a scrub alliance that can't see any way of winning that doesn't include carriers. We didn't use them that much because ultimately we didn't really need them.

Well, I wouldn't go that far.

But if someone is trying to say that the Archon focused drone assist tactics used by N3 are not overpowered/broken/mechanic abuse, crowing over the invincibility of said tactic is not a choice I would have made.

Too soon to conclude. The Goon Master Plan is to "encourage" their opponents into using an obviously imbalanced game mechanic to the point that their opponents put all their eggs into one (very expensive) basket. Then CCP nerfs the one trick pony of drone assist, thus undercutting the enemy in a most humiliating fashion, which causes a lot of people get disgusted at CCP and creates a huge river of "we've destroyed your game" tears.

The Goons are brilliant. Or would be if CCP would hurry up and implement their part of the plan.

Are you not trying to make CCP nerf carriers, so that you can win, how does that not include carriers?

You don't want them, can't beat them, need them nerfed to win. But what do i know i'm just a scrub in a npc corp, and you are an elite pvp'er in bob, oh sorry i mean gsf.

If Goons hated Bob and now do as Bob did you can either assert Goons are now what they hated or you may at least suspect Goons were Bob the entire time.

I should mention actually that I have an alt that's only a few months away from flying the Archon. I'm still going to train it, but that doesn't keep me from maintaining my position.

No actually, we're pointing out the imbalance. We don't make CCP's decisions for them and I would think that'd be pretty evident considering recent history.

We can win without the nerf. Doesn't mean the nerf shouldn't happen.

The problem is a combination of drone assist and archon spidertank blobs. Separately, they are powerful, but combined they are absurd. Both are in need of a check and balance or two.

If I had to pick one or the other to be done away with, I'd personally choose drone assist. Whether you agree that it is broken or not, its pretty hard to argue that it is actually a fun way to engage in combat. Once drones are assigned, only one person in a 256 man fleet is actually doing anything. That is boring as hell.

i would double thier hp

increase the mwd by 50%

reduce thier sig radius by 1/3

increase base damage by 50%

that and change the thanny bonus to 5% to fighter damage and hitpoints per level
