Have Goons become the very thing they hated?? (i.e. BoB)

CCP you are our only HOPE!

TLDR, Goons literally needs CCP's help to continue "winning EVE"

"Can't figure out a strategy against one ship doctrine"?

Answer: "nerf it" "it's not fair!"

Is this what the future holds for the rest of us that believe in real strategy and theorycrafting? "Nerf it because I can't win fast enough"

Of course they have, look at the clowns who comprise them. Its the biggest bandwagon in EVE history. And their leader makes excellent laughing stock.

When discussing weaknesses of heavy drones vs fast frigates: baltec1- " A thanatos with a flight of geckos killed a bomber gang while AFK. So yea, they track frigates just fine." https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4678049#post4678049

Possibly, but at the same time that article does make some rather valid points.

Thank you faceless NPC corp forum alt for this public service announcement.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

But he's thinner and more personable than the last few.

If Remedial were still here, we'd be discussing all the different ways we can eat ham.

Spoiler: "With our mouths" would still lead in the polls.

If you replace "Balled archons are nigh on indestructible and have no effective counter, CCP fix plz" with "AOE doomsdays are nigh on indestructible and have no effective counter, CCP fix plz" then I think you'll find we're on the same side as we've always been.
I guess that makes N3 BoB, then, given they've seemingly fallen back on "scream about proposed fixes that would take away our OP toys on forum alts".

I mean maybe its just me, but don't a lot of those corp names look familiar too??

*chuckle* Numbers and stats galore, but not one mention of the drone delegation drone assist problem. Translation: CCP isn't going to "fix" drone delegation drone assist, instead let's get Someone's entire fleet of Archons nerfed. Now *that* is a cost effective way of countering an enemy's cost advantage.

To a degree, that's inevitable. The position they hold carries some inescapable social and organizational frieght. They are victims of their own success. Best thing for the Goons to have happen would be for a 'New Goons' to arise. Unfortunately, Goons are so hyper-dominant that it's *very* difficult for such to happen; I'm not even sure what or how many conditions would need to change to let such a boon appear.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

...aaaand since every tactic successfully used against the goons for some reason soon gets hit with a nerf bat.....

5 year old mechanics are suddenly a problem because Goons can't beat them. Big smile

Funnily enough, if they changed it so that drone assist worked like drone delegation, a large part of that problem would vanish.

5 year old mechanics are suddenly a problem because the scale has changed over those 5 years.
I can't recall anyone actually figuring out a way to beat them that doesn't come down to “get n+1 of the same”, which is pretty much the death knell for any mechanic…

Too bad DBRB is right.

I don't believe anyone here is so stupid as to actually believe that slowcats are balanced. They're either the ones currently using them and are being intentionally dishonest in order to convince people they're fine, or they're random pubbies who don't have anything intelligent to contribute and think they're being clever.

Although i don't like goons very much i must admit that this whole drone assist is nothing more than bypassing and cheating basic principles of battle mechanic in EVE

Its just stupid that one small insta-locking frigate can control thousands of drones and bouncers and thus bypass lock time of carriers resulting in instapoping almost everything what loads on grid.

Drone assist needs to die. At least for sentry drones

5 year old mechanics aren't the problem, it's players/alliances now rich enough to take advantage and abuse them to their fullest. It used to be that fleet fights with 100 battleships were particularly newsworthy for a null fight, now 100 capitals are a small tiff not even worth mentioning.

Be nice if people checked my character before they ask me about things that were before my time.
