So i'm browsing books here at my local library in Australia, and what do I find out of the blue? "Eve The Empyrean Age" by Tony Gonzales Shocked The library has actually reduced the number of books available over the years cos of the internet, and so this was a surprise.

I promptly borrowed it, was wondering though, is it a good read or would I have been better off reading Pinocchio?? Straight

Never not read Pinocchio. Its a classic.

But why cant you read both? The worst that happens is you don't like it but you still read something instead of being a TV zombie, the best that happens is you freakin love it and want more.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

its okish, just stay away from that burning life eve book. The templar one book conbtinues the story of the emperian age book and is also okish. There a better books out there, but also worse :)

Yeah, wanted some views on it though from those who have read it, what they thought of it, its over 500 pages, so I'd like it to be time well spent.

Pinocchio is better science fiction.

I have yet to read all of the great classics because I figure if I ever end up in prison, that'll be the best chance to really enjoy them.

From the replies, I'm kinda getting the message that Eve players don't read while they gate camp Shocked most peculiar...

500 pages?! So many books are released now that have less than 300 and cost around 7-9 US. Really sad to be honest. I agree with the other guy, it is better to read something than to sit around watching tv. You actually use more brain power staring at a blank wall than watching tv. Especially with what is on. Go read the book.

I bought it back in 07 shortly after it came out, I got it while at fan fest of all places. I read about 10 pages and put it down. Its currently sitting on my self with another eve book collecting dust. The only reason I did not read it all the way is after I got home I was so busy with stuff that I kinda forgot I had it. By the time I saw it again I was Fully engaged in A Song of Ice and Fire that there was no way in hades I'd add another 500 page book after reading 8k or so pages of that series. But I am reminded that I have it, so I might as well read it. I'll keep it eve if I don't like for my 'eve collection'

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

The books are also considered Lore for the most part. So help explain EVE's back story and some behind the scenes stuff our characters wouldn't have seen.

No. I gate camped for years. Links to photos. Links to more photos. Scratching bawls. More photo links. TS laugher. Gate fire. Nothing worth killing, even if you could catch it. Scratching bawls. Links to photos. More laughter.

You may sit there reading Tolstoy and scribbling notes in the margins chronicling your feelings about poor Ivan Ilyich and his exchanges with Praskovya, but the rest of us are generally less pretentious than that.

PS - And don't tell me you're doing EVE research, because that's what work hours are for.

PPS - Have you figured out what I'm doing yet?

I read it a few years ago when it was released. I enjoyed it, especially as an Eve player. While it's not Isaac Asimov or Arthur C. Clarke, I'd consider it a step above most of those Star Wars books.

I read it while deployed aboard an aircraft carrier. So yeah almost like a prison. It's not bad and if you like EVE lore at all you have a decent chance of enjoying that book and it's sequel. As mentioned above, it's so much better than the drivel they try to spoon feed you on TV any way.

All across Australia books are being destroyed if they haven't been borrowed in ten years, they are converted to data and stored on the web.
Some libraries are like kids bookshelves now i swear.
