Wasn't there but response from corp members has been overwhelmingly positive - seeing Devs playing the game they invest so much of their time into can only be a good thing as you can see matters from our POV.

P.S. If you need help fitting ships, I suggest Failheap Challenge. Alternatively, feel free to contact me ingame ^^

Keep it up!

It's really cool that CCP is flying fleets around...

But do you really need to carry around a bunch of valuable **** to donate to the inevitable Tech-fueled hotdrop that you will receive each time you do this? The game is imbalanced enough without donating valuable loot to people who really, really, really, really, really don't need it.

Next time, fly Drakes and Hurricanes like everyone else who isn't a part of the Goons/DRF cartel, and leave the expensive cargo behind. That's the only part of this which isn't cool at all.

Because CCP makes this game you moron! If they really wanted to they could charge real money for anything they wanted to. (Please don't charge us real money for ships to prove this point.) It only has a cash value, because CCP wants the equivalant of a subscription for it so they don't really lose too much money. The only unethical thing CCP has done is not permabanning you for being a moron.

Are you a miner/mission runner that is tired of being ganked? Do you want to play EVE and never PVP, but you have a list of players that is stopping you from doing that? Don't QQ pay someone to do your PEW PEW for you. Now offering reasonable rates. EVE mail me for more details.

Actually they haven't sold you anything:

"Your Account, and all attributes of your Account, including all corporations, actions, groups, titles and characters, and all objects, currency and items acquired, developed or delivered by or to characters as a result of play through your Accounts, are the sole and exclusive property of CCP".

If they could be converted back into cash then you may have a point, but they can't legally (in CCP's view) .. Heck, modules being dropped can be sold to make ISK to buy PLEX .. It's exactly the same, whether they are tech 1 or faction.

It's fairly easy ..

Money converted to Plex = CCP gets cash.
Plex converted to money = CCP doesn't make $15 .. Oh no, sky falls in! (Not to mention that it is against the UELA)
Modules converted to ISK converted to Plex = CCP gets cash.

So you are complaining that CCP is not making some money from this and someone gets to play for free for a month.

CCP gets money every time the sell a plex. But those plexes also have a very important in game value. When they just generate them out of thin air it causes INFLATION. They basically just devalued everything in the market.

Which is a huge insult to players as it means their IRL money they spend on plex is now worth less.

There are many other issues with the way you are trying to logic this out. But Plex is a form of currency and has a IRL dollar amount value.

Makes me laugh all this talk of CCP loving goons. Ever since the t20 incident it was always "waahhh CCP are still helping BOB, they've got a track record" etc etc. Now BOB is dead and almost forgotten, goons are next to be accused. Hey, those russians are getting big, CCP IS HELPING THEM. Incursion runners getting rich? CCP IS HELPING THEM. Success is possible without CCPs help, just because you haven't figured it out yet doesn't mean others can't.

Nice to see CCP still just spawns what they want. I am sure all the CCP players running bill ships + fits really worked hard for all that isk right?

Hey maybe rather than spawning yourself ****, and giving guys with tons of money more money... why not fix the damn game...

Seems like the forums are working reallllll well.

So eve goes down, and the forums go down the sametime as this dumb ass event... and let me guess... had nothing to do with it right?

LOL...

And if it did not! It just shows you people need to be spending time learning how to do your job, not playing a game, or you should be getting a pink slip.

The idea of CCP logging in and grinding ISK to buy ships for an event is quite simply asinine. They created and run the game. Why in the world would they "work hard for all that isk" when they work hard enough to give you this game to enjoy? You don't enjoy it? You are certainly free (and encouraged) to leave the game.

If you owned an ice cream shop and you wanted a bowl of ice cream, would you pay your business the same amount of money as customers do for a bowl of ice cream? Of course you wouldn't. You would get yourself a bowl of ice cream (which you own as part of your business) and eat it.

Moreover, the whole point of the event was to have fun and do some "testing." I could understand people being upset if employees of ccp were creating expensive ships out of thin air, and using them for regular gameplay. However, it is quite obvious that this is a special event and not somthing that happens in the course of your everyday gameplay.

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

I find this amusing since one of the chief complaints around here is that they make poor gameplay decisions due to not playing and not knowing their game.

When your done with your logical fallacy laden tripe come back and have a real discussion.

No one said they shouldnt run events. Or interact with players.

They should not however have had such Items in their cargoholds that have clear Cash values. A plex and Nex items do have such values a battleship does not cause i cannot DIRECTLY purchase one with cash.

I wouldnt be surprised if this ran afoul of possibly gambling laws or some tax laws since those items have a cash value.

The thing I love most about forums if people who think they can use phrases they've learned from others to sound smarter than they are.

Quote:
a logical fallacy is only asserted when the source is not a legitimate expert on the topic at hand, or their conclusion(s) are in direct opposition to other expert consensus.

I can go right now, to an website where I can, with my hard-earned cash, buy ships fit exactly like the CCP devs flew today. I can also buy plex, NEX items, and anything else I want, with cash. (other than PLEX, this is against the EULA, BTW - don't do it).

I can also buy all of those things with ISK, which I can earn, in game, by spending time, or I can acquire, by selling timecodes which I paid for with cash.

That is not a logical fallacy. That is a fact. Experts would agree with those facts.

According to recent reports, and the massive uptick in the ISK value of PLEX, a Titan is only worth about $1500 USD right now. It used to be much closer to $5000, by the way. I can say that because I can translate (roughly) the value of ISK to USD based on the price of PLEX and GTCs. Everything in EVE has a dollar value.

Now, if it were determined that CCP spawned the PLEX and NEX items (and ammo and mods) rather than acquiring them through normal channels in game, that is a problem. And that, frankly, is the only possible problem.

On a side note, I was not present today either, because I was at work earning my cash to pay for my subscription and GTCs I use to get ISK for ships.

Democracy is only as good as the despot managing the voting booth.
