How do I price characters?

Hello Guys!

I'm a fairly new player, and decided I could try to save up for a pvp toon. My present main is a 5 M SP Caldari missile pilot and I find it a tad frustrating to be a) restricted to 1 weapon type b) lacking the knowledge about my enemy. I have literaly no knowledge about flying gun ships and it shows when I pvp. I'm also tired of limited ship selection - going gunnery would make me able to cross-train a lot faster (my main "cross trained" only to minmatar destroyer 4 so he could fly a talwar),

I would like to buy maybe 8 M sp amarr/gallente pilot (drones + guns) as it would supplement me perfectly.

And the question is - how do I do that? What kind of money do I have to secure, and what are the chances the market will meet my requirements? Can I do something to optimilise the price? I do not want to go above cruisers anyway - maybe it can be done cheaper?

Look in the character bazar forum for an idea of they are going for.

Edit - Turned out to be a bad site, disregard.

Not sure if this is still up to date but if it is you might find it useful when looking at characters.

What to do should I place a buy order though. What would you say would a price be for a good FW (so I guess cruiser limited is enough) amarr and/or gallente toon would be? How many SP to aim for?

Try to join the channel mentioned in this thread.

And after a very fast glance.. This character seems to be similar to what you want (mostly frigs and cruisers, PVP character) which ended up selling for about 7 bill on B/O.

Maybe I'm confused but why not just train Gunnery skills? You are by no means restricted to any weapons/ship type ever. Instead of buying an Amarr or Gallente pilot, train Amarr and Gallente ships, Energy Weapons, Hybrids, blah blah, blah.

8 million skill points may be too little for an effective dual race cruiser drone pilot.....but I am not a skill guru by any stretch of the imagination. That being said if you found one it would probably be able to beef it up within a month maybe two.

DO NOT EVER...EVER...EVER use that appraiser. Its so far off the actual value, it is used by people trying to lowball and bully people into selling for far too cheap.

For example recently sold a booster character for 28bil..... the appraiser linking offers (which might I add low balled in game not the forums) 17bil.... They could of made 10bil off me easily. Don't give them the easy ISK

8mil sp character, depending on the skills and wasted SP's...... 4-5bil..... Each charater is different so really depends

Just figure out how much your budget is and make a thread in the character bazaar.

Title the thread 'WTB Multi-race Combat Character under X billion ISK'. You'll end up with plenty to choose from.
