[suggestion] deployable mobile Q units

A new kind of deployable unit: mobile Q-units.

To an observer they look like a regular mobile deployable unit. (siphon, tractor, depot, etc)
However, they do not function like a normal unit.
Instead, after a semi random amount of damage they
blow up in a large area explosion (or perhaps reflect damage back onto the person dealing the damage)

Various types and settings are available.
The more powerful the explosion, the more it costs to make.
Once deployed, they can not be recovered.

Semi-automated suicide bombing? Rly?

I mean, you deploy something that poses some kind of threat to you/your corp/alliance and want to get a killmail for some form of mine (wich where put out of the game for some reasons)... I'm not really sure if this would improove the game. Ugh

maybe make them so that people have to actually destroy them through the reinforcement timer, and no killmail is provided, only lossmails

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Mobile Bomb Unit

decoy structure that blows up in your face.

I support this idea.

Place one with my altcorp (wardeced of course) in a built up area, pop it with my main. Boom.

I like the name Mobile Bomb Unit

And yes, depending on your definition of abuse, a simple area of effect explosion could be abused.

Which is why I proposed perhaps reflecting the damage onto the person giving the killing blow.

Maybe have it reflect to those with aggro in high sec and area of affect in low/null.

The proposal has two main drivers:
1) blow stuff up.
2) make things less predictable to those who initiate attacks.

I like the idea. Might need some kinks buffed out, but as a general idea it's great. +1

Step 1: Deploy mobile depot
Step 2: Cloak bomber
Step 3: When someone starts shooting depot, decloak, and bombs away!

Ok, so your spamming these mobile bombs all over my space just to annoy people. I know they are bombs how, do I get rid of them safely?

not sure I like this idea as it seems to open to leaving random bombs littering space. True Q-boats on the other hand...cargo ships with extra turrets and tank? That I would fully support...would bring a new dynamic to gankers tactics too...do you scan the cargo ship and spook them? Or just go in and hope they aren't armed to the teeth?

Like all the other one time units, they don't last forever.
So you can't leave them littering space forever.

Picking a good timeout time is left as an exercise for the devs.

Also, if you didn't deploy them, you won't be able to tell that they are not a regular unit.

That is the whole point. (but I could be talked into some form of scanning revealing the truth)

I think it would potentially be too easy to abuse :( for instance a fleet of super fast inty's could run through a fleet and lay the units, then once deployed a second suicide fleet could run through and detonate them.would be easy to trap slow ships with multiple units I suspect
