Hi all.
Just wanted to quickly pop on here to reiterate my apologies for the recent spamming of the list. I was fortunately able to respond within only a few minutes and permanently banned from the list the offending players. This is unfortunately W3370Pi4's desperate attempt to prevent this list from successfully operating in place of his paid for list. I am currently looking into longer term solutions for this particular problem as a high priority. I'd advise anyone receiving the spam to remove it. You may also wish to block both characters (Ambulation 2008 and CriticalHurt) though their mailing list bans will never be lifted.

Again, my sincerest apologies.

As a bit of good news however, a little update. We have now reached a total of 254 members, so still growing well.

Edit: Happily, this appears to be covered by the ToS:

The war of the mailing lists is quite amusing to watch. Looks like the owner of bulk trade is desperately trying to sabotage his new competition. Well I guess it's pretty hard to compete with free.

not a bad mailing list, not quite as busy the old free one but hopefully will pick up with time.

must be doing something right to get the "old free mailing list," try to spam your list !

Not surprising. You can safely assume a significant chunk of the old subscriber base was inactive by default, character, account or player wise. Everyone who's paying enough attention to subscribe to the new list is pretty much by default at least "active lurkers" and since some of these have ceased using the old one, the activity should be higher here.

I'm enjoying this, even if it is just the same old thing as before under a new name.

well the old mailing list guys is getting major butt hurt over this and any mention of the new mailing list seems to get u banned from his list which is rather funny. As anyone who pays for his service and says anything he doesn't like gets banned which is a waist of isk compaired to the free list

Since the 8th there has been 5 sale posts in bulk trade not including updates or discussion posts, in the same amount of time there has been 21 sale posts in wholesale trading not including updates or discussions.

w3 has actually spammed 10 times in wholesale trading since the 8th, that's twice as many anti-wholesale trading posts by him as there has been sale posts in his mailing list.

Numbers of subs is deceiving aswell, considering as someone else has stated many are inactives, and not to forget alts. I alone have 12 characters in bulk trade and 1 in wholesale. Activity is key, and there's a clear winner here.

1 more stat for you. So there's been 5 and 21 sale posts, all 5 of bulk trades posts appeared in wholesale trade. No unique content being generated by using bulk trade.

Out with the old, in with the new. Bulk trade is dead.

Hey all.
Just wanted to give a quick update. We're currently up to 361 members and trade is flowing well daily. We're pushing more traffic than the old bulk trade and the subscription group (which has had 3 posts since it began) combined which is brilliant news.

I'm aiming to get the OP of this thread updated with a more concise rule structure this weekend if I can find the time to write it up. Nothing will change if you guys keep doing what you are doing, it's just to give clear guidance to those who aren't familiar with how these lists work, and to outline the punishments for bad behaviour.

As usual, if you have any comments or questions, you can post them here or send me an eve-mail directly, and I'll endeavour to respond as quickly as I can.
Thanks for all of your ongoing support.

Thanks for the support.
I've now updated the OP with a slightly more clarified rule structure. Nothing is really different, so if you're already using the list, just keep on as you are doing and all will be fine.

It's a self registration thing. In eve, in the eve mail thing, there should be a button at the bottom saying "add mailing list". Click that, type in Wholesale Trading then OK it. You should see it appear and get the welcoming mail, then you're all set. You can see the way people lay out their posts and follow that and the rules in the OP of this thread and you're golden.

Will definitely sign up for this.

Question on the rules. I understand that using the list to intentionally attempt to scam in any way is prohibited. Do you have any rules against people who use the list scamming elsewhere? I remember the defunct list had rules against that and it was why I never used it.

Nope, no rules for that. As long as you don't attempt to scam on the list and don't attempt to scam someone during a transaction based off of the list, you are free to do whatever you like. So if someone contacts you about an ad, and you respond to them offering them something else which is a scam, that's about as far away from the list as it goes. If you deal with someone on the list and later scam them separately in Jita or something, that's between you and them.
