Question on standings and security level

Hey all, quick question that I haven't been able to find an answer to.....

If my security level is positive, I'm cool with Concorde, but then if I have a low standing with an empire, what are the net effects (below -2.0 obvioously, above that there are no effects)?

For instance, I'm Caldari, and have high standing with them, and very positive security level. But with Gallente, I'm approaching -2.0, because of level 3 missions that I've been running. So once I go below -2.0, will I:

1 - Get gate agro and station agro in Gallente space? Or just station agro? (not sure if Concorde standing is what determines gate agro).
2 - Get no agro in Gallente space, but they just won't deal with me
3 - Get station agro from Gallente stations in Caldari space?

Or is there some other effect I'm not thinking of?

Thanks for any replies,

Tat

When you have low Faction standings (Amarr / Caldari / Gallente / MInmatar), their NPC Navy *The ships you see around gates + sentry guns* will start to shoot you.

And it's not the station owner that is deciding if guns shoot you, it's the owner of the system.

As written in the guide linked by Quickening, the main thing that happens at -2.0 is that you lose access to lvl 2 (and higher) agents of that faction. The faction will not shoot you until you hit -5.0.

You may also also lose any other benefit from corp and agent standings within that faction while you are below -2.0, but I'm not certain of that.

You can have a very high NPC corp standing and a totally trashed faction standing with that corps faction and still get the benefits of things like jump clones and refining. You just cannot get missions above level 1 until your faction standing is above -2.

Also OP remember that Sec Status and faction standing are two very different things. If you have low sec enough status then CONCORD will destroy you in ALL high sec systems. However if you have low faction standing, then your only risk is in systems owned by the faction in which you have low standings, and also it is not CONCORD that will go after you but the much more tankable faction police. They can still kill you and you can't shoot back without getting concorded, but it's not insta-death like CONCORD - if you're quick you usually can get away.
