hey guys

Ive recently switched to Min battlecruisers ( im used to a T2 drake ) besides T2 missile launchers, im still on T1 launchers/missiles

But shield tanking is all T2+Support

Anyway

Im just after a decent fit for a cyclone and doing level 3 missions effectively with decent DPS and active shield tanking to use the bonus

My biggest confusion on fittings is whether to go mostly Projectile turrets or missile launchers. i know u can fit one or the other and do hybrid builds

My Missile skills are much higher , im totalling 3.8Mill SP atm

And my gunnery has most of the support skills but all around level 2/3

Cyclone is a pure missile ship and while you can fit 2 turrets it's really not any useful because unbonused weapon systems aren't worth the fitting, effort and ammo. The problem a PVE Cyclone has it that it really doesn't much dps with HML (but is free to select damage types) while not having the range bonus to even think about using HAM.

Apart from that it has a really annoying 50m³ drone bay because bringing lights (which makes the most sense) means you're missing out on dps as you can't also have mediums. And while one may explain that as "it's more than a drake gets, stop whining" you have to realise that ships are balanced on all their stats so if you have an increased drone bay, while not actually being really useful, it does mean stats somewhere else were lowered to compensate for it. This is less of an issue in PVP but it still applies.

Here's a fit that works fine, just translate it to named where you need to:

Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Capacitor Flux Coil II

Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I
Small Tractor Beam I

Either start a new thread in Ships and Modules and ask for this one to be locked, or report your original post and ask for it to be moved to Ships and Modules, ISD guys are nice like that.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I like the idea of this build. i just have a phew questions.

( sorry to question the build, i like it, im just about a phew decisions u made )

1. I cant use tech 2 launchers just yet. so im stuck between XR-3200 and proto arbalest HM's

2. Why Nova over scourge?

3. The power drain and tractor beam im curious why u chose them over the extra dps of projectile turrets, like i mean i get it has no bonuses for it. but wouldnt the extra dps just help get missions done that much faster, i just cant see were the power drain would come in handy in missions

4. The CL-5 Shield booster seems be a very small boost/recovery rate, would there be anything with a faster/larger recovery rate?, i know i can use tech 2 boosters

1) works just fine, don't spend too much on expensive meta 3-4 launchers because you'll probably be moving into BS fairly soon, for PVE anyway
2) this fit assumes to be fighting Angels so the resists are tailored to them and so is the ammo but you should switch resists and ammo type based on what you fight of course
3) unbonused weapons just aren't worth it, they behave completely different from your missiles so it's kinda like mixing gun types, after a while you'll just stop bothering with them because they'll take up too much effort, clicking and ammo to be worth it. On top of that the NOS helps you in times of trouble; if you're in a close range situation where you need to tank a lot then it keeps your cap up
4) in this case it's a CPU issue, if you use named modules instead of T2 (missiles for example) then you might free up enough CPU for a T2 but you're fine with the named one, you'll tank more than enough.
