Which stealth bomber should I aim for?

Hello!

I'm quite new to this game, and I was thinking of setting some sort of goal I can strive for. I'm thinking about stealth bombers, because the general description of them is appealing. But which one is the best? I'm currently having my eyes on the Nemesis, purely for aesthetic reasons. Is it good or bad, is there another ship that's better?

Oh, and since I'm new; does it matter which race I choose? For example; if I'd rather go with Amarr or Gallente ships as Caldari, is it best to just switch race now or should I just train for the skills?

Thank you in advance.

Manticore is sexiest but Nemesis is pretty nice too.

Get the one that is prettier, then get the rest because they each have a bonus for a specific damage type.

Doesn't matter which race you choose.

Check out Bombers Bar.

Thank you both!

I'm currently training the Amarr Frigate skill; the Purifier look great, and the Amarr tech 1 frigates are really good looking aswell.

Hound and Purifier are usually considered best for bomber fleets due to having most low slots (so they can fit most damage mods). Manticore has an extra med slot, which is useful for smaller groups. Nemesis is generally considered worst due to being very difficult to fit (all bombers have very tight fitting, but Nemesis in particular seems to be very tight on powergrid).

Carebears instructing you to go for the prettiest.

Bombers are niche'. They are bonused in one particular damage type per race. So it depends on what the goal of the fleet is. Is the fleet going to bomb or torpedo? What does the FC want to accomplish?

Therefore, if you want to be a bomber pilot I would say train all four races. Save the Nemsis (Gallente) for last.

Manticore.

kinetik is a versatile damage type, not the worst not the best, and the extra mid-slot means you can fit for a wider varierty of situations.

also, caldari boats is how you make money in this game early on, so training caldari first is arguably best option for the next 2 months, especially since torpedoes and caldari missiles use same skill tree. if you train torpedoes, you train missiles; if you train missiles, you train caldari boats.

caldari frigates - caldari cruisers - drake (moneymaker number 1) - raven (moneymaker number 2) - stealth bomber - tengu (default PVE for high-end) - golem - (ultimate PvE)

If you're thinking about torps, choose based on the damage type. Bombers get such a big racial damage type bonus that it overshadows other considerations.

If you're thinking about bombs, it doesn't matter too much.

But the thing about bombers is that once you can fly one, you're only a rank 2 skill away from flying any other bomber.

Purifier and Manticore.

EM obviously best dmg type against T1 shield, also primary/secondary resist hole of all T2 except Minmatar.

Manticore's Kin used to great effectiveness against T1 armour and is a resist hole of Min T2.

Fly them all, looks doesnt matter as you will cloaked most of the time.

I remember some time ago, the cargo bay (amount of bombs) and damage type was important.

I personally like the hound.

If you're given to soloing (read ganking industrials) in a bomber, you probably want either the Purifier or the Hound as they can fit a nano along with whatever else in the lows.
If you plan on flying with other people train for all four (frigate five isn't a long train) so you can have all four damage bonuses at your disposal. And don't listen to people knocking the Nemesis, it can be a pain to fit, but it's not impossible with half decent skills. Plus thermal is a nice damage type, when people are done plugging their resist holes you often find thermal is left as the lowest resist.

I can be found here: anothereveblog.tumblr.com Alternatively I can be found decloaking 15K to your aft. Bombs away!

All of them. Frigate skills take a week to get to 5.

Thermal is actually usually the correct choice versus proper T1 shield tanks.

Furthermore, I think that links must be removed from the game.

bombers are fun to fly but if you are new and every training day counts then i would suggest looking at the EAF, interceptor and assualt frig choices. one level 5 frig skill opens up all these ships and they are all very useful.
generally no one wants the amarr EAF around in fleets.
people usually aren't fussed which intie or SB you fly.
most fleets prefer minmatar or caldari assualt frigs.
this is from a null small gang and fleet perspective. mileage in other space may vary.
the point is plan what other ship you want in the T2 frig line.
