It was the misuse of an apostrophe as pluralization that made me scream.

I've stopped making that interpretation and instead started assuming that the only thing that's actually correct is the apostrophe, and then complain about all the other errors that creates. P

Just make sure you have your ready references handy.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Basic plural formation is something you learn as a three-year-old, or in your first quarter of taking a foreign language. Expecting people to get such a fundamental component of language right hardly qualifies you for a brown shirt.

Now, since I prefer to think that people aren't quite that stupid, I've adopted the only viable option: read it as if the apostrophe was included correctly: “are bio is safe?” (which makes no sense) or “are bio is safe?” (one too many verbs, and a very oddly phrased question) or “are Is bio's safe [something left unmentioned]?” (lacks a predicate and has an agreement error since ‘safe’ is singular).

So I'm not sure why you're objecting to anyone thinking the OP actually wanted the apostrophe there?

Why would you assume I'm making a counter argument? That is nowhere implied.

I'm not. I'm asking why you feel the need to be abusive just because I give the OP the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not being abusive, just pointing out you're being a bit ethnocentric, arrogant, and unsympathetic to difficulties another person might have. The first post pointing out the OP had some problems was OK, but then when someone else mentioned it too, you felt the need to gang up. That isn't giving the benefit of the doubt, that is taking pleasure in putting another down and taking something to excess.

So what if a foreign language student is taught grammar in the first, second, or third semester. What is one semester compared to 12 years of grammar instruction and reinforcement, more if you went to college, that you received? Maybe this person didn't learn in a school? Maybe he is mentally handicapped or maybe he/she comes from such a destitute background that there doesn't seem to be a point to learning good grammar because there is no perception of a potential to ever get a job that requires it.

Then again, it could be a stupid lazy brat of a kid, so the more people that mention it and express their displeasure the more likely a change of behavior might be effected. However, harping on the grammar makes it more about you and your need to be superior.

So you're being abusive.

Nope. That's just you being abusive (and presumptuous) again.

There are a lot of people being abusive in here.

I must be in the Eve Online General Discussion forums.
