Forget drone assist, how about why does an 800 dps domi or ishtar with garde II's track better than 200mm Railguns on a tracking bonused hull? In order to out-track Garde II's with railguns you need to go all the way down to Dual 150mm. That's insane.
Because rail tracking took a 15% hit last patch.



Somebody is ignoring signature resolution.

Consider:
* Gun A: that tracks at 0.1 rad/sec with a sig res of 400

* Gun B: that tracks at 0.05 rad/sec with a sig res of 100

Gun B tracks twice as well as gun A, due to the way the tracking formula works.

I support this idea. Currrently there are not many options to bling out your average ratting boat past using more expensive tanking modules - faction DDAs would solve that problem, giving the wealthier players one more module to spend their hard earned ISK on.
