Forum,

I recently decided to try exploration and have been hacking some sites in hi-sec to work out the basics... I've discovered that when I hack a site and it jettisons all the goodies inside, I can't 'take' them all before they deprecate.

How can I successfully 'take' them all? Am I missing a module, a skill...? Am I just not fast enough?

Gratitude for any help.

You cannot get all of them. However, most of them will have nothing worthwhile, and you can target the ones that might have something valuable.

First, if you fit a cargo scanner and use it on the container, you can see exactly what loot you can possibly get. Then, refer to this table, prioritizing the spewed cans based on what was in the container.

My personal priority list, between both data and relic sites, is:

Parts container > data container > equipment container > materials > scrap

Since I explore in low sec, I usually don't fit a cargo scanner but eqip a micro warp drive to hurry between nodes

There is one way. Bring a friend. It's not too difficult to scoop them all with two or three people chasing. It's quite boring for those not hacking though.

My Helios can accommodate one drone. Do you bother with taking a combat/scout drone or use a salvage drone for targets of opportunity?

Use a cargo scanner beforehand, then determine which cans are gonna contain the best lootsies. The rest is junk. You can easily grab all the good stuff in time if you are quick. And yes, there ARE some helpers for this... I believe theres an implant that gives you a decay rate decrease on the loot spew. I just read that here somewhere so don't take my word for it.

I think the drone is really an artifact of being a Gallente ship. I can't think of one good reason to use a single drone in a Helios, let alone prefer one over the other.
