Lately i have been hearing some stories about people who multibox incursions, and i want to try it out for myself.
How should i set up my fleet? And how should i fit my ships? I currently have 6 screens, but there is still room for a few more on the wall. If anybody has some experience on this, it would be nice if you could share some information.

Multiboxing as in soloing incursions with lots of alts. I want to do it to find out if it is possible and effective. Getting into a fleet with some friends and making lots of isk is easy, but thats not the point.

You can either run all 6 screens on one computer with a couple gfx cards or you can run multiple computers say 3 comps 3 screens each.

You could use a KVM so you can use one mouse and keyboard for all 3 computers.

Honestly though if you have enough time and money to spend on such a rig why wouldn't you just buy your isk with GTC's?

What do you hope to accomplish? Soloing is boring. why are you playing an MMO with thousands of other people only to play by yourself?

As for the folks who ask "why?" — the answer is "why not!" It's like climbing a mountain or restoring a "classic" car: it's a technical challenge that some people find is worth solving.

My personal opinion is that multi boxing is cheating: keyboard/mouse broadcasters are a form of automation that gives a player a clear advantage over multiple players on one computer each, or one player using multiple computers. The GMs have ruled that Synergy is allowed, so my opinion is counter to the established precedent on interpreting the rules of the game.

Well Cambarus used to do it in 2 basilisks and a Vindi I think. If you wanted to scale it up, you could add more dps but that would make it a little more difficult to manage all the clients.

he doesn't do it much anymore, probably because the pub fleets have caught up to the curve in effectiveness.

when most fleets you run against are faction BS with gank fits, it makes it a loosing battle to compete against with this method.

Now in low-sec I imagine the population is thin enough to try this, but LOL, POW, SPLAT, b00m

IIRC he used to use a 3 basi's and 1 Vindi (as well as having 3 alts/boosters sitting on gate) In case you felt like trying to duplicate.

Also, there was some theory crafting about a spider golem fleet, not sure if it ever got off the ground or not though.

The reason I stopped was because I got bored with it TBH. That and once I decided I didn't want a nyx, and bought my utu, I really didn't feel like grinding for an erebus.

When you're the only one in the fleet who actually needs to be there you have the luxury of logging on at times when there aren't many people on, and you can have your pick of sites.

It's also worth noting that pubs getting better actually helped me, because the site density shifted from mostly OTAs (which are damn near impossible to solo) to mostly NMCs (which are the easiest to solo, and were the bread and butter of my operation).

The ships I used were a vindi, 2 basilisks, a tengu with siege/skirmish links, an orca (to haul ammo and swap mods based on the sites I was running) and a scrub alt who just sat there and got paid.

Spider golem fleet (it was actually a golem and a vargur btw, and the only thing spideree about it was the cap transfers) was successful on sisi, though it offered no real advantage over the fleet comp I had been using, save for the fact that it was easier to manage (2 accounts in site instead of 3). It's something I may start doing on tq though, simply to make it a bit easier should I start running sites again.

I may get back into running sites in a few weeks, uni + work = not a whole lot of eve time atm, though that said, with plex prices as high as they are, I may just run them with friends.

BTW: There is an issue with scalability, and you will get shafted trying to bring more toons into the sites, simply because of swapping logi reps and the added micro it entails. I actually had a second vindi for a while, but for a massive increase in needed micro (since I couldnt just set and forget my reps) there was almost no decrease in site completion time.

I was theorycrafting a way around this using a completely different setup, involving armor tanked zealot/legions and a heavy reliance on ISBoxer, but as it would have entailed a completely different set of toons I never got around to actually testing it.
