Buff FW - reduce the size of covops cloaks

a few patches ago, the size of metal scraps has been significantly reduced so players could pick them up in various pve activities and no longer leave them in space as sacrifice for the holy mega maid.

Many FW pilots face currently the same problem. Various metafarming activities (e.g. killing farmers in stealthbombers) have a high chance to drop covops cloaks. Those covops cloakes however do not fit into the cargoholds of the recently rebalanced interceptors - the metafarmers ship of choice. Arcane stories like "cabin in the woods" taught us, sacrifices must change with time, otherwise the mega maid may become mad - and she does not want to see cloaks anymore.


long story short: please reduce the size of covops cloaks a little bit. It is currently 100m³, 50m³ would be perfect! 75m³ a compromise.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Anyways, I think this sounds fine to me..... not really sure why they are 100m anyways,

either way, enjoy popping them FW mission runners, it gives us something to do heh

Just Covert Ops cloaks - or regular cloaks as well?

Cloaks in general should take up less m3 anyways. If the argument is they need a lot of material to cover the ship then we would have different sized cloak for each ship in the game. P

oh. i somehow thought normal cloaks take less m³... yeah sure for consistency reasons they should be changed too IMO.

I wonder why they are this huge in the first place. Does it have something to do with material compression thingy?

Absolutely agreed. If an 1400 howitzer only 20m3 and a 100MN MWD only 10m3 the covert ops cloak shouldn't be 100m3.

But capital mods are 2,000m3... and I cant fit them in my battleship when I kill a ratting carrier...?

yeah. but statistically you will find most covops cloaks on frig and cruiser sized hulls, despite the fact that they have BS size transport volumes.

maybe there is a good reason why they are so large but it seems a bit random tbh.

edit: and don't forget to upload the vid if you solo a carrier in a BS

I can think of two reasons for the large size of the cloak:

To avoid mineral compression (currently its pretty low though 2:1),
To make them harder to bring along (don't want people swapping for cloaks).

The mineral compression is nullified by the introduction of extra materials (making it inefficient for this purpose), and I don't see an issue with people bringing extra cloaks in their hold!

In short, I support this change.
