AFAIK carriers have the furthest jump range of all capital ships. Methinks it has more to do with capital escalation and not wanting to risk super caps than anything else.

because they can't own 100% of nullsec. that's the heart of this issue.

they want to be able to use the same exact tactics over and over and for it to work until they have all the sov that is claimable. anything less than this means the game must be broken in some way...

back in my day, a challenge was to be relished.

some of it might be the kinds of personalities that goonswarm draws. like the kind of person who, when playing any sort of ranked online game with an ELO system, will continuously remake accounts so they can play players weaker than themselves. the idea of losing (which is inevitable if you are playing against people of even skill) is too much. cannot be handled.

True, but is that a bad thing? If there were more areas that had to be contested it would relieve serveral things and shake up the game as opposed to having two powerhouses running at each other at full speed.

If drone assist is causing you big troubles ban the archon, ishtar and dominix at the pre match screen. Or bring more hordes of f1 monkeys, this usually works.

I'd understand Grath's insistence to the contrary about capitals being all-powerful against subcaps if that weren't the rationale behind pretty much every capital ship balance pass ever.

Goons didn't start with thousands. Goons also didn't beat BoB by force of arms. Nor have they beaten a number of other opponents by pure force of arms, instead relying on behind the scenes infiltration and disbanding of alliances & sov to get their wins. They appear to have run out of that now and haven't put the force of arms down to match. Goons as a result, should loose this one.

That said, I looked at Nag training, unless you are already well trained for a Cap ship (i.e. Jump drive training) it's probably 2-3 months even for a good BS pilot. So Omega fleet 'might' still be on the way.
