Wine 1.7.9

So I decided to install Wine 1.7.9 today since I was having trouble installing another game under 1.7.0.

Funny thing is, while the launcher now full loads every time, the game client won't.

Running ExEFile.exe gives me this little beauty:
Quote:

wine: Call from 0x7b83d7c9 to unimplemented function msvcp100.dll.?_Getname@_Locinfo@std@@QBEPBDXZ, aborting

Thankfully I use PlayOnLinux to install most of my wine versions (not to play, just to save me the compile time headache). So I can still run EVE with 1.7.0, but I'm curious if anyone else has run into this and if they were able to correct it.

Edit: Shortly after posting this, I tried setting *msvcp100 to (native, builtin) and now everything runs smooth.

I am experiencing the same problem.

However, I do not seem to have ab msvcP100 dll installed. The closest I have is an msvcR100 which is already set to native, built in.

Am I missing something?

Confirming that setting msvcp100 to (native, builtin) works. There is a ddos going on according to Chribba so I can't really test 1.7.9, but the client starts.

You might have to install something like vcrun2010, but you have to do a search which one specifically contains msvcp100.

Success! Just ran 'winetricks vcrun2010' and problem solved.

Crud. Hope they get that one fixed. We've been doing well for a while not needing any overrides.

Had the same problem, but vcrun2010 was already added, and the relevant overrides set to (n,b).

I had to delete all the OTHER overrides, and it's working.

Good riddance, I'd say. Ancient cruft from a forgotten time we definitely live better without.

I didn't need any overrides. I just needed vcrun2010

I already has vcrun2010 installed, so I just ran:

winetricks --force vcrun2010

This solved the problem for me.

When you install one of the vcrun packages, it automatically inserts the appropriate overrides into your config.

Wine 1.7.10's announcement says that the bug is fixed.

I have a fruit cup and I'm not afraid to use it.

I can confirm that after updating to 1.7.10, I was able to remove the overrides and run the game again without crashing.
