a matter of weapons

i need feedback and advice in this, well, i recently joined a null sec corp and the rats they kill are Guristas, im an Amarr player, so currently im only covering Amarr ships for now, want to finish one racial line before moving to the others. so i have the inconvenience of the damage types.

so i wanted to know if it would be viable to use unbonused weapons in certain hulls, i know the armageddon is a drone ship so it isnt really a problem. but i dont like to do babysitting, so i want to use a gunboat. i have planned the following fit. but want feedback to know if it would be enough.

i could use autocannons too, but want to know if theres something i should fix in that fit or if i would be better using blasters.

again, i dont want to spend time crosstraining for gallente or caldari hulls...it would take more than just learning new weapons

It probably wouldn't take long to train Gallente BS4, and you'll already have Armor tank trained.
Then you could get a Megathron that is bonussed toward Hybrids.

Otherwise your fit seems decent, I'd ditch the Damage Control and replace it by a EANM or second Hardener.
I've never ratted against Gurristas, do they only deal Kinetic Damages ?

As far as I remember they deal like 80% kinetic damage, so pretty much.

Yes. It really isn't a lot of effort and will get you more DPS and better tracking. For something like 5 days of skill training before you can resume your normal training plan, you can get into a Megathron and be way better off.

i'd prefer to leave those 5 days refining my support skills than crosstraining, just wanted to know if the fit had failures.

Isn't thermal the Gurista secondary resist hole? Just use lasers

Looks like a troll to me, but tbqh I got so confused (recruit scam in progress? not training drones? not training caldari bs for nightmare later on?) you deserve this response.

i thought that but according to my corpmates, its better to deal kinetic damage.

no, im not trolling....yeah i have drone skills, and missile, and turrets, at the basic lvl, but im not gonna wait 3 days or more for a crosstrain.

if you have decent drone/sentry skills get a Geddon with Gardes and Wardens, they're awesome with good dps and massive range, and they use no ammo. Even if you only have like sentry skill lvl 3 it's already worth it. Besides, good drone skills are always useful so might as well go for that.

Shooting lasers at Guristas is painful. Either use a Geddon with sentries or train for a Mega.

yeah looks like i'll go the droneboat way, got a prophecy for there, and from that will jump to a geddon

Wasting 5 days on crosstraning to gallente BS 4 would give you 20% faster gun = almost 20% more dps and 30% better tracking, Very likely a life saver for someone with low skills.

Tell me what skill can give you more in just 5 days?

This fit brings tears to the Amarr Holy God...

Wait because you didn't want to spend 5 days training Gallente BS you're going to spend a whole lot more training sentry drones? I hope at least this is because you have some RP reasons why you don't want your pilot flying Gallente or maybe you just like the Amarr look?

Train geddon + sentries or train gallente/caldari BS. 5 days of training is well worth it if it makes a major difference in the efficiency of your ratting.

came to reply that im near to get into sentries, im gonna go with an armageddon with scourges......no problem with anomalies right now, but i hope the sentries will make it easier....

An MJD wouldn't go amiss, to get you out of the way quickly, should anything get too close. And you could probably replace the thermic armour rig with a large CCC, or a drone scope chip.

Here is an idea open the wiki or the thread that has pvp about everything and not post stupid things on a pubby board.


The sites you are running everything will be within 40km. If it happens to drift out of that range you did something wrong. Use Gardes over wardens for more damage.

i dont have skills for microjumpdrive, y just plant a mobile tractor in the warp in point and play the sitting duck way, getting the aggro while the drones take care of the rats, the missiles are a suplemental damage , i just tank the hell out of the rats instead of keep moving.

the fit has failures because you are using the wrong guns.
eve weapons without bonuses just don't work.
