Anything thats the equivalent (concept wise) of something like EVE Mentat for EFT?
There are a lot of different tools like that out there, but I've never seen anything for Exploration, anyone know of anything? Or any that could be used for Exploration (even if not necessarily made for it)?

About the only thing you need to know for exploration (Hacking wise) is what loot drops in what sort of can. Other than that, it's all fairly simple to manage.

I'm not speaking of anything fancy here, I mean something like a tool to track your route (to mitigate backtracking or the like) and stuff like that. Again, something along the lines of how Mentat helps manage your wallet and the like.

Be less dumb and you won't need any outside tools to take part in an activity that has been dumbed down into the ground over the years.

tl;dr - Don't be dumb.

By that logic a carpenter is dumb for using a Electric screwdrivers over a manual Screwdriver. If the tools are there, It would be idiotic not to use them. If there are not, then no big loss.

Set a route before you undock that will end with you back at the station you base out of? I don't usually have problems with retracing my steps, it should be fairly straightforward

Two things I do:

Dotlan has a Radar feature that you can use to track your movements. It will move regions and highlight your current system for you. More importantly, it also highlights what systems you've visited during the current session (you can also get a flat list if the map isn't your thing). Very useful for keeping an eye on systems around you. (Link: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/radar )

Second thing I do is not a tool so much as just a habit. I always scan down every signature in a system, and always bookmark the sites using the following naming convention: [{SIG ID} {Type} {Short Name} {Destination type (if wormhole)}]. This allows me to easily keep track of any active signatures in a system if I revisit it. Once a site disappears (completed, expired, etc.), I usually move the bookmark to a folder called "Old", but you can just as easily remove the bookmark if you don't want to keep them as safe spots (something you should do for a bunch in low/null)

Came expecting a thread where lonely prober wants to meet another lonely prober for a night of probing and exploring.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Just dotlan and http://www.ellatha.com/eve/wormholelist.asp if you need the wormhole list. ...though it's just a list and can be pasted into your in-game notes. Otherwise... I can't even think of anything that would be of any real use as far as websites or apps made or unmade. It's just not very complicated..

Oh, I know something, if I can find it....

ah here it is, the link was on one of Brendan Drain's articles from a few years back

I would also recommend the Dotlan radar function. I also run a dual monitor setup and use mind mapping program to track where I have been and directions I did not choose.
