5 weeks earlier, while I was mining ores as usual, I ran into a one guy.
He was bumping my exhumers and threatened me that he will report my toons as bots.



Short while after the incident, all my accounts were banned by CCP on account of 'improper macro usage'.



At first, I was sure that there was some kind of mistake, since I HAVE NEVER used any kind of macro or automated botting 3rd-party softwares. So I petitioned for an answer.
However, the answer was that macro usage WAS detected by system monitoring and that the ban was in accordance with EULA.



As a hi-sec "care-bear" miner, I usually join the fleet with my corp-mates and chat some random stuff from time to time while I mine ores. I sent the logs and claimed that I would further provide any kind of evidence that will prove no macro usage was involved, if needed.
Still, GM returned a 'copy-and-paste' message that they are not obliged to show proofs of macro detection and this petition is hereby closed, the end.

Now, I do understand that proofs of macro usage cannot be shown, as that will allow botting script developers to come out with newer versions, bypassing the system. That is perfectly fine.
Furthermore, I am not whining about the miners griefing. I can put up some more shields, making it not gank-worth. If some guy bumps me, I can always move on. No problem with that.





The whole point is that,
the system used by CCP to detect automated botting IS somehow flawed, and there could be some more innocent guys like myself that had account banned based on false bot detection and incorrect decision.





As an EVE subscriber, I was enjoying the game just as much as everyone else, and devoting some time into it.
However, now that I know CCP could just ban account without proper proofs, I am not sure if I would have fun playing the game any more.
I was banned for 30 days, and would be able to play the game after that. But what's the point if my accounts could get banned anytime for anything?


Hell, I wouldn't be writing this if I really used botting scripts.

I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this matter.

What, the GMs didn't help you? No way!

I'm sure that's a mistake and they were extremely helpful. Oh no sorry. Not this game, must be thinking of somewhere else.

I'm sorry, but the fact that you "type random stuff in chat" is in no way proof of not using a bot. In fact, bots often come equipped with the ability to reply to in game messages remotely. CCP, from what I have seen, doesn't hand out bans lightly, especially one so long as yours. I would love to hear more though, so please continue to discuss your petition and CCP's responses here on the forums. At least until they permaban you for violating the EULA. Again.

File a petition. Coming to the forums and complaining will accomplish nothing. Account bans are out of our control LOL.
