Yes, this build is in the expectation of the machariel being nerfed in the indeterminate (but long rumoured) future. Does anyone want to buy a slightly used Machariel?

On the ECM question, empirical evidence suggests that NPC ECM jamming is related to sensor strength (i.e. don't take a marauder to a guristas mission with jamming) ymmv.

Basically,
* Some dev states/implies/lies that NPC jamming chance is fixed,
* Sturmwolke tested it out and shows that sensor strength does affect NPC jamming chances. I confirmed his conclusion.
* Plus it turns out that NPCs were NOT jamming every 20 seconds like they should have. The interval between jamming attempts varied wildly.
* CCP fixes NPC jamming to happen every 20 seconds
* Mass whinging about heavily increased NPC jamming (due to above)
* CCP reduces NPC jamming strength somewhat
* People fit ECCM when going up against PvE Caldari/Guristas ewar NPCs.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Wrong ECCM has Zero effect on NPC jamming. NPC jamming is FIXED chance and does not challenge the sensor strenght of your ship.
THat was expalined bac when marauders were first introduced.

Wrong. It has been empirically proven that NPC jamming is affected by your sensor strength. I will dig up the thread when I get the chance.




I made my own tests.. (granted was quite a while ago) and my results were different.. matching CCP explanation. Same ammount of jammeing ( within 15% deviation between a vargur without ECCM and a T3 with almost 100 sensor strenght)

Looks good for the most part, a few suggestions:

Rigs:
Burst II
Ambit I

Exchange the sb for a pithum medium sb variant if you want to go shiny. Much easier on cap and very capable of tanking 4s. Drop the nos for a tractor beam
Drop the boost amp for something else, dual prop, 3rd tc, etc.
Maybe add the 605 cap implant if wanted.
