Hello,

I'd like to ask you what do you think about Archon+Sentries farming L4 blockades (blood raiders)? I used to farm them using fighters back then when they used not to aggro NPCs.
I played around with EFT and with Curator I'd get 1200+ dps and with garde ~1500dps.

Maybe someone tried it?

P.S. Funny thing is that I always thought Thanatos gets drone damage bonus, but it seems that it only gets bonus for fighters. So that means archon gets better DPS with sentries because of one extra low slot for one extra "Drone Damage Amplifier".

P.P.S. I'd use paladin+bastion for that probably, but don't have one (and don't have money for it yet).

- Nothing out of the lvl4 mission pool can touch a carrier.
- You will be restricted to missions without gates (Blockade, Gone Berserk..)
- Sentry Drones tank like a boss; keep a remote rep on the one with aggro and you are golden
- Everyone and their mother will be out to kill your Capital Ship

IIRC the Thanatos used to have a drone damage bonus.

I'm living in 0.1 space so lowsec is fine with me.

Now I'm actually in doubt with high slots. There are only 5 in Archon.
I'd like to fit 4 of them with Drone Control Unit and the last one would be either Drone Link Augmentor or as you say remote rep. Since carrier doesn't get any drone control range bonus (only for fighters), sniping something futher than 60km+ would be impossible as sentries only shoot to targets that are withing drone control range. So I'd have to wait until they get closer (but I guess I could kill triggers first, so they approach me while I still kill previous spawn).

I could of course swith Drone Control Unit with Drone Link Augmentor, but in that case I'd loose DPS because of lower drone number on the field.

Refit on the spot using a Mobile Depot, depending on what you need?

If you are using a carrier do lvl5s instead, the payout is that much better. But if you insist on lvl4s then you only need one augmentor. Dont bother with remote rep. just pull the sentry that is taking fire back in and spit it out again.

Tbh i think it is a bad idea, to be in a mission for that long in a carrier sounds like a bad idea to me, the idea with a carrier is just to blitz so you are in space for as short a time as possible.

I havn't been in null for awhile, but before the anom nerf, this was entirely doable. I doubt it has gone down THAT much.

As far as lowsec goes, L5s in a carrier are wildly more profitable. (to the tune of a few 100mil more per hour)

I think people that quote 50m+ ticks seem to forget that it had an overseer in it (which for me has been a 1 in 100 occurrence for null anoms). Also between "then" and now CCP made interceptors warp faster and made them immune to bubbles.

If you want to do L4's in low with a carrier I'd go with chimera.
Will get the best tank / drone ability out of it.
Having the extra omni's and navs will keep you safer from anyone who is hunting you.

Remember to use drone range rig instead of wasting a high slot to get the best DPS no matter which carrier you choose.
