Except for noob ships, docking, Undocking and hangar slots for ships or assets should cost ISK.
It could be a way for corpos to gain isk and in Highsec a way for ISK sink. Also it would force players to manage their Asstes better.

Can't argue all night because my sub is almost out but seriously, this is the single worst thing i can think of, suddenly poor people who pool all of their money into a ship would be unable to dock and running out of slots would mean you are screwed when it comes to having a backup ready and waiting

If I remember rightly, this is already an option in nullsec. Talk to your corp leaders about why it's an awful idea.

Maybe if goons stopped losing eggs and actually got some stations up in its vast allotment of space you'd see some income. I've lived in Providence and got sick of variable docking fees down there. That is where they should stay. Highsec/lowsec does not need an annoyance money drain.

Huh. Wow, yeah; I remember that... I think I've seen docking fees all of once in my entire EVE career, more or less exclusively during the month or so I spent as a renter in drone russia (baby's first nullsec adventure, following which I joined a real nullsec alliance and resolved never to get tied up in renting again). But yeah... docking fees are a **** move, not least of which because it delays your dock time while you answer a silly prompt. As I recall, the prompt is even worded in a way that implies the fee is a **** move.

Wouldn't this seriously hamper industry types who are always docking/undocking/storing large amounts of goods? I think hi-sec folks probably already manage there assets through necessity as they are a source of isk to most players.

Hangar slot limits might be an idea though...stop people having umpteen ships on standby for attacking others...might make ganking more thought through and less of an exercise in maths...didn't get that hulk the first time? hmmm and running low on gank ships too...would give mining fleets and such a chance to survive a bit better too if they can tank a few rounds of hits...

having said that I have no experience of ganking so not sure how truly tricky it is, just going of what I've heard/read. The hangar idea would stop people hoarding hulls though :)

Except that you can assemble/fit ship in a couple of clicks using saved fittings so limiting hangar wouldn't help and storage is already limited to 1000 different items.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

I think it would be profitable for the dynamism of the economy and for the the game mechanics.
Perharps the first shi in a station could be free no matter it is a noob ship or not, and the first million on m3 of asset could also be free.
So players would have the choice to pay e fee to concentrate their items or to spread them in more stations to not pay the fee with all the risks of movements...
