The Controls are -terrible. Everything i hated about Oblivion seems to have been made into a feature and worsened.

To equip a simple weapon requires you to fumble back and forth between keyboard and mouse controls. You cant simply equip an item using only the keyboard or only mouse, its a combination of keypresses on both which seem almost random. Opening the Items menu even, for example, requires you to press Tab and then hit Right 2x. Obviously developed for Consoles and spent 10 minutes porting the controls to PC.

even for the most basic things such as the main menu. You hit tab and then you cant even click on the menu options. Its like a radial menu but you cant use a mouse and you need to press 3 keys to select anything from it. Dont worry though, they have you using your mouse again for the next selection, and then right back to keyboard for the following. Theres simply no way to do any one thing entirely on the keyboard or mouse, you're forced to do a balancing act with your keyboard AND mouse in order to do ANYTHING

The NPC scripting in from the 1990's. They move like NPC's from a Pokemon game. very mechanical, scripted. 10+ npc's all begin their movement at the EXACT same moment, and the animation looks very abrupt and inorganic. Especily noted in the opening scenes, where you'd think they would spend the most time trying to make a good impression. Instead, you're introduced to a world where everyone moves in perfect choreography. NPC's will move straight, come to a complete stop. Make a Turn, and then continue on their path, instead of 'arcing' or even simply just running from point to point.

Im glad i only wasted bandwidth on this game, and not any real money.

Delete.

Strange, I can use the mouse on all menu options. But I suppose bugs are to be expected when you get a pirate copy of a game.

You can click on the main Compass-looking menu? When you hit tab you're able to click on the 'Items' portion? Because i have several friends who own the legitimate game from steam and have all confirmed the flakey PC controls

Complain even after you steal it?

The ole entitled generation... (actually newer, but I digress.)

They did create a huge massive virtual world. Hell the real world has bugs in it.. What do you expect? Games are too massive and complex these days to stamp out all the bugs. Just the way of things now, and to come. Hell even AAA studios like bungie and blizzard dont get them all.

One of the MAIN reasons I am against piracy.

People will not only admit that they have pirated the game (Against US law BTW in case you forgot) but actually review a PIRATED COPY!

This kind of crap has led to games perishing due to leaked or damaged pirated versions causing some review sites to trash it. Giving the company a bad rep and loss of sales from even people who would have bought the game.

This isn't a forum for you to spew your crap and your entitlement to use pirated software. Leave

You only have a right to complain if you actually bought the game.

Also this reminds me of those who pirated a certain other game, to not realise it was installed with DRM which slowly degraded the playability of the game and would complain on the official troubleshooting forums only to be told to get a legit copy.

I think the controls in the game are indeed very consoly and the UI needs a mod to be made PC friendly, but your complaints about the controls is still full of ****. Either your game doesn't work at all or you don't know how to play the game. Either way I've not experienced any of your issues.

It took me a couple days to realise you could even USE the keyboard in the menu.
Tab to open inventory has been a feature of PC games for, oh I dunno, over a decade now? Maybe two?

I have a couple mods for memory utilization and graphical improvementsto make full use of my PC's graphical capability, but thats really it. Stock game looks 10x better than either console version anyway.

No major bugs (one CTD but honestly, I don't think I really ought to have been running two other screens and videos at the same time anyway)

tl:dr - Buy the game before you whine about broken ****.

Pirated version or not theres no denyin the UI is designed for console use and it was a straight lazy copy.

Dont agree, try mappin weapons to hotkeys..........oh wait.......you cant. Once again its down to modding community to fix the lazy PC port.

And lol at people being mad at OP for piratin a game to test it, and found he hated it. I'm sure he'd feel much better if he'd spent 50quid only to realize he hated it

Actually you can , open your favorites select which hand you be using it and asign a hot key 1-8 to the ones you use most

But it is true the controls were desgned for a console , but after a while you actually get used to that

OOh and i agree the OP is wrong in complaining about the game since he pirated it

It is true there still alot of bugs in the game , as can be expected in such a huge game , but as far i experienced them they not game breaking , some of them are even very funny
I love the immersion of the game been neglecting EVE alot in favor for skyrim

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

The UI in practice is identical to what FFXI had. Clunky when you start, incredibly easy to use despite its failings once you get the hang of it.

You can map weapons to hotkeys. favorite the weapon or spell, press Q, hover over the weapon or spell and press any number 1 through 8. Additionally, press I to directly access the inventory, bypassing the radial menu.

Skyrim is an incredible game. 92 Hours in the game so far, will probably break 120 by Monday, and enjoying every second of it. Now it's not a perfect game, but the small imperfections are perfectly forgivable, especially when compared to the abortion that was Oblivion.

Skyrim GOTY 2011.

I really like nordic culture about this game, but those consolish controlls are just retarted. Struggling through menu just to drink a potion? Completely plugs you away from game-pace.. Good that I just found cool text-rpg Adom, way more interesting and challenging!

To be, or not to be, that's the question.

This. A gamepad isn't that expensive, either for PC.

Confirming the radial menu is clickable AND arrow key selectable.

I HAVE a MW2 limited edition wired 360 controller somewhere, I bought it for X2 and X3, but rarely use it. Maybe I should dig it out, see how it handles.

For me, the controls are incidental to the enjoyment of the game - PC Graphics are however, superior to any console, and THAT'S where the immersion is. Whining about bad controls? Ever play Deus Ex (the original), or any game made before 2000?

Yeah. STFU about bad controls.

I pirate most games before I buy.

I do not buy most games I pirate.

I tend to hate most games I buy at full price.

I did not play Morrowind

I did not enjoy Oblivion

THAT BEING SAID.

I Pre-Ordered Skyrim

I had 84 hours played the first week.

I have 100 hours played as of now.

It was worth every goddamn penny.

Better said, bugs are to be expected if you don't get the latest patch which fixes the bugs you're complaining about.

Skyrim has hot keys, I suggest you use them. Makes swapping weapons as easy as pressing 1 or 2. :)

My crash issues magicaly went away - all i did was stop a java updater running in the background and i SERIOUSLY doubt that helped.

Either way now i can play more than 5 minutes i can safely say noone of these issues exist, the UI makes sense, im a little confused why they didnt just keep the Oblivion one but the constellations perks are pretty.

Just this game sucks out your life in any other game, i purposely leave it to weekends because i know 3 hours will not be enough. Eve gets them - Skyrim gets the afternoon evening and most of the night. Bear
