Yo soy la viudita
del conde Laurel,
que quiero casarme
y no encuentro con quién.
No encuentro con quién.

Si quieres casarte
y no encuentras con quién,
escoge a tu gusto
que aquí tienes cien.
Que aquí tienes cien.

Escojo a esta niña
por ser la más bella,
la dulce doncella
de mayo y abril.
De mayo y abril.

Yo soy la viudita
del conde Laurel
que quiero casarme
y no encuentro con quién.
No encuentro con quién.

I haven't seen Peter Capaldi yet but I hope he's not as bad as Matt Smith.

The last episode of Matt Smith was really bad. Regeneration blowing up a Dalek fleet? Really. Also Peter's comment about kidneys was also bad.

I'm not really expecting him to do much other than try to copy Matt and David.

Well to be fair, this is the start of an entirely new regeneration cycle, so the blowing up of the dalek fleet may have been the entropy of the universe or some timey wimey crap like that happening. But im not so sure about the new doctor though. We will see in time.

I'll watch if they ever finally cast Helen Mirren as the Doctor.

Was anyone else extremely shocked by how quickly the regeneration was?

Doctor Who is not about the Doctor. It's about blowing @#$% up by the end of the show.

I was shocked at how he could "use" his regeneration to kill off the Daleks.

Well to be fair, River Song used hers to kill off the nazis who confronted her, so there's precedent for it.

The Doctor tries to ensure that his regeneration occurs in the Tardis precisely because it is violent and unpredictable. The Tardis can contain and redirect the regeneration energy and keep it from doing things like blowing up a fleet.

The regeneration wasn't instant, it started when he blew the fleet up and continued all the way until his body changed. It has simply always happened off camera before.

Who knows how much energy Gallifrey gave him when they lifted the regeneration restriction like that? (pun not intended)

I don't think we can judge how he's going to be as the Doctor until we actually see it. David Tenant's first moments as the Doctor seemed ridiculous after the seriousness of Christopher Eccelston, but he ended up being even better in the role than Tom Baker, IMHO. Matt Smith wasn't bad, but I think Tenant and Baker topped him.

A shame we didn't get more of John Hurt, though.
