Ok I don't think the Gnosis should be a reward for completing the Sisters story arc on the account that is not a SOE ship. However, I'm not apposed to adding something as a reward to the end of that arc besides the ISK and faction standing. I'm thinking an asteros or an asteros 1 run bpc. All the other epic story arcs give something tangable out so why not this one? Lets just keep to Sisters tech.
Yes but Tabris the Gnosis is flown by the final rat, why couldn't he drop or make available the BPC somehow? My problem with the arc is not one of reward, I think it would be entirely inappropriate to give out an Astero. I was suggesting the Gnosis as a reward because it would be, in my opinion, the perfect time to furnish a new player with that ship.

In Blood Raider missions, I kill rats flying bhaalgorns models all the time but they never drop bhaalgorn bpcs. It's not till I go out to null sec and complete a high end DED site or unrated exploration site do I even get a remote chance of this faction bs droping as a bpc.

My point is that ships like the Gnosis or other pirate faction ships (excluding SOE) ships are only handed out for special events and the SOE epic arc just isn't rare or special enough to warrent such a drop, like missions. If CCP decideds to award more Gnosis for New Years or some other celebration that would appropriate.

Know I have always thought you should get some SOE LP for doing the SOE epic arc but since they introduced SOE ships it seems more appropriate for one of those to be a reward. In reality the only reason ships like the astero cost so much is because so few people are willing to grind the lp to buy the ship or bpc. By making an astero the reward would provide new players with a strong ship that would not cheapen the meaning of limited ships like the Gnosis.

You see that's where we differ completely. For me you cheapen the Gnosis by consigning it to history as a limited edition. Its value is in its use.
NB, there were at least a dozen other rewards associated with the 10th anniversary. I find your and others focus on the Gnosis as a big shiny to be immature.

im up for anything that means i can get an special edition ship without having to spend large quantities of isk, if we cannot get the gnosis BPC via killing Dagan, at least we could get it from other means, like ghost sites or i dont know, adding them to the loot tables of data/relic sites...

i'd like to see the Echelon, the Primae and the Zephyr avaliable too.....

What about a drop of the Gnosis hull with different stats, slightly reduced, re-skin it slightly to signify its a pirate captured one or something.

Current Gnosis stay rare.

New ones for newbs.

The Gnosis is not currently rare. There are about 600,000 in existence.
It also is NOT a pirate ship. It is a zero skill newbie BC with fixed stats that do not benefit from BC skills & once you have skills is worse than the actual BC's.
I.E. It already is a weaker ship, ideally suited for newbies getting out into the big wide world, and avoids the terrible 'grind to afford a cruiser' they have to go through, which is not a great New Player Experience.
Sure we can argue we all went through it, but the oldest of us went through it when a cruiser was a great achievement. Now days most of us regard a T1 cruiser as pocket money, not even expensive enough to count as chump change.

Let me be frank, this opinion of mine has nothing to do with expected appreciation of value for the Gnosis. I full expect to see more of these ships given out by CCP in the future. When I say "cheapen" I'm refering to the gesture of giving, not monitary value.

My reason for suggestion an astero as a reward for completing the arc is because I feel it is a much more effective ship. As it stands I feel the Gnosis is flying slab of fool's gold. It looks shinny because it's rare but in the end it lacks focus and there for can be easily out preformed by more focused ships. If a ship is to be given out for/during the SOE epic arc then make it something that is actually useful.

You're wilfully ignoring the primary strength of the Gnosis which is that it has VERY low skill requirements and is enormously flexible: two attributes which could be extremely valuable to new players. The Astero is an entirely different ship and I'd rather not even consider it as it has NOTHING to do with my original suggestion

On which ship to give at the end of the SOE epic arc:-
HAS to be gnosis - it's designed to help you access different playstyles, it's a crutch for a newb
CANNOT be an ship that has 'per level' skill bonuses (such as SOE cruiser)

On how many:-
not too many - a single character should acquire maybe 1 every 2 years
not too often - if you get one - you shouldn't get one for AT LEAST another year, preferably 2

How and where:-
chance CP in can drop from dagan upon destruction?
chance BP upon analyzing the wreck rather than salvaging?
chance BP in the loot of the wreck?
BP or ship from sister alitura herself? - NO
of these I prefer the first 2, and FFS it's a SOCT ship - the SOE agent cannot give it out!

anything I forgot to cover

oh yes - 'rare ship'
bet you CCP offers more of these later and people who bought collector's edition
'shiny ship'
maybe make the gnosis BP you discover have a different skin so people keep their shiney's - call it a different thing, but to all intents and purposes - they're still gnosi

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.
