Warp speed is negated in a fleet warp, scanres is negated in drone assist.
The whole fleet initiate warp and hit grid at the same time, the whole fleet's alpha hits the target at the same time with drone assist.

The difference is navigation vs weaponry, its the same concept.

The problem is that, with fleet warp you go with the speed of slowest ship, but when it comes to assists, you use fastest locking speed (unless you're terrible).

Besides, achieving synch in warp with different ships is impossible because you can't choose to warp slower than at max speed unless you use fleet warp, while drone assists just facilitate something everyone can do already... Except that it ignores EWar and allows you to use someone else's stats instead of ones of your ships (which are set for a reason).

You might use a slower ship, as long as it is the one that cannot be damped (can use a local sensor boost, of course) or jammed because it is ecm immune.

Note that these drone assist ships cannot actually lock the targets their drones are. Like the dominix locking to, let me check...

Dominix has drones shooting to 200 km, but the ship itself could never target that far, I'm looking at a 87.5km targeting range on one of these fits. Not bad, since most turret sniper fits need to actually be able to lock their target. Instead, just need one seboed ship. And apparently titans lock to 250km anyway. An aeon without any sensor boosters, er I see 182km, so one sebo, ecm immune ship will take care of all your targeting needs for 200 battleships.

Drone assist is balanced.

BBC, CNN, and Faux news list TheMittani under other news sites.

So feel free about getting a press pass to the next E3 in the real pizza world.

We don't have pets, and this is the first time we've had renters.

eh, pretty much everyone in the CFC besides goons is a second-class citizen, which makes them renters, their isk just goes to buying pre-made body bags for the meat grinders instead of directly into the alliance wallet

Only people outside of the CFC buy this little story people keep trying to spin.

When I was in RAZOR it certainly wasn't true.

when my friend was in goons a couple eyars back, he mentioend alot about the meatshield "pets" the FC's alwasy threw at the bus first.

maybe its chnaged in the last year and a half, dunno.

Fair enough, but let's be honest... every post in GD is a waste of words. :D

No offense, but that's not a job. It may be an income, or even a business, but it's not a 'job'.

I have no citations. It was taken off the grapevine. If it's not true, well, alright then. I'd be willing to wager it is true for some, though I'd have no proof.

I did not know CCP pays for those flights. My mistake.

Yes, and even for a small alliance it's a horrible soul and time sucking job. How CFC or even just GSF manages to do it, I can't even fathom it. This is mostly the reason I believe the 60+ hours claim, because that's what I figure it would take to get the job done.

Anyways. I mean no offense with these words. I misunderstood your point, and you can blame spiked eggnog for the wall of text that followed.

Says who?

Were you on the original design team for capitals? Can you maybe share some of the original design notes for capitals?

Do you also believe that frigates should be untouchable by Battleships and Battlecruisers?

Do you think it would be ok that since in your 'ideal' world caps can hurt subcaps that the reverse would be true as well in that subcaps can't hurt caps and you need caps to fight caps?

Do you live in an imaginary world where all of the nerfs to supers never happened? Titans and motherships as well as dreadnaughts all ate large nerfs in the last few years specifically to their ability to engage subcaps. Carriers were saved from losing their non-fighter drones specifically because they were supposedly still weak enough to be engaged by subcaps, something which is obviously no longer true.

So one would think you'd be a bit more cautious about openly crowing how your carrier fleet is immune to all subcaps.

Yeah. Currently a carrier with sentries (garde II's especially) can insta blap any ship - including interceptors (smallest ship in EvE) better than any subcap.

The Ishtar and Domi have tracking bonus (25%) but that doesn't make up for the additional 10 sentries that can be fielded by a carrier.

In addition the Ishtar can fit 2 flights of sentries, the Dominix a little more but carriers? hundreds of flights of sentries lol.

This is why the archon is the new drake and the sentry drone is its HML. Even better than the drake because of the exponentially higher EHP, the thing can do logistics at the same time. Its like- why would you ever need to fly another ship ever again? Just train a perfect archon and you're set for 0.0 warfare.

Let's face it.

Carriers need to be rebalanced anyway, and so do dreads, supers, and titans.
When pretty much every alliance (except TEST because they're special) tells their members to train Archons to the exclusion of all other carriers, that's a pretty surefire sign of an imbalance.

They do not answer to balance threads until they have a proposition in mind and discussed with the CSM.

Tiercide is reachign recons and pirate ships, then will be the time of t3 and then finnaly CApitals.

Do not expect any change before next chirstmas.

Since carriers are far more damaging to the game in their current state then T3's will ever be, I would be surprised if they don't deal with the caps before T3.
