Hey guys i've been trying to figure out a path to join lowsec roaming gangs, and according to my resource it had once seemed that minmatar is a good choice for pvp so i spent most of my three-month-eve-time training projectiles and m ships.

Until recently did i realize that those fast nanoshield ships are replaced by falcon and guardian gangs with pewpew blasters. So could anyone gimme some advice about what to train next or give an example of still good minmatar ships for solo and small gang?

Thanks a lot Big smile

Yeah i still want these cruisers however i see fewer and fewer vaga and cane in lowsec corps and a member of a semipro lowsec corp told me that a big problem of ac ships is their relatively low dps compared with blasters and fewer ehp compared with imperial hulls.
I myself still tend to stay with minnie but just cannot find some really good ships to train for.

what mintard lacks in damage projection they make up for with mobility
what mintard lacks in ehp they make up for with smaller sig radius

A lot of winmatar has been hype over the years - I haven't been a big minmatar fan since the rifter (pre-frigate-rebalance).

But having said that - you can get more applied dps by paying attention to selecting the optimal damage type.

To be fair, Minmatar offer far better options for BC and smaller solo PvP in my opinion. Yes the other races have their niche uses in the same fields (Incursus, Condor, Vexor, NOmen, Prophecy) but they all have strong and top-tier counterparts (Breacher, Slasher, Rupture, Stabber, SFI [Scythe and Stabber]). That and projectiles are beast in sub-BS combat because of their good damage projection in both amazing T2 ammo options, good all-around faction ammo options, and hilariously good falloff.

Do not feel discouraged. The game is more balanced now than ever. If you can't find a good group that'll take your Hurricane or Rupture come to Black Rise where we embrace good ships with even better pilots. I would recommend QCats, JUSTK, Villore, (GalMil) or Templis, Church of Awesome (CalMil) if you want groups that know what they're doing with something bigger than a dessy.

I am by no means a Minmatar expert, but I have been flying them lately quite a bit. Compared to blasterships, which is about all I flew before, they are competitive.

Their EFT DPS numbers are not as good as Gallente, but their damage application range is far better so the actual applied damage is pretty similar. The new RLMLs are tailor made for Minmatar skirmish ships and actually give a good amount of burst DPS before you have to GTFO.

Of course, Gallente ships will rule at zero but that is as it should be. They are different tools for different jobs. My only complaint is I wish the Minmatar ships were slightly more nimble (less mass) but otherwise, I like them.

As far as people not flying them much anymore - that is the whole FOTM thing. Something gets "nerfed" and people make a hasty judgement and stop flying it alltogether or jump on the bandwagon of some other ship/system that got "buffed" at the same time. Its not necessarily based on reason. Its an entirely new meta now and it is going to take months to sort itself out. Just because Winmatar were all-powerful before doesnt mean they arent good now - it just means they arent the right choice for every situation. Again - that is as it should be.

Just my opinion.

Minmatar are still pretty competitive aside from the cane which is total shitmachine compared to every other racial BC

BALEX were one of the first groups to use an all armor SFI/logi setup as a fleet doctrine;

ONN- Try the HAM/AC Scythe Fleet for solo work. It can put out over 500 dps and capable of catching kiting ships like Caracals, Cerbs, NOMENs, and Cynabals.

Nothing wrong with Minmatar for PVP! You might have gotten that idea because the other races have been brought up to par, and no single race is 'best' at PVP anymore. Sure those guys indicate the problems with their ship, they are pvp-ers... so they are prone to look for inperfections and improvements. Even the finest ship has trouble in a particular area.

For Minmatar, that particular area is NOT small gang or solo PVP! Big smile Stabber and Rupture are still two of my favourite, and most often flown ships. I like the Stabber for solo pew pew, and the Rupture for belt ratting with PVP encounters in mind.
