Cannot launch game following Mavericks OS update

I updated my OS to Mavericks last night. Since then, I can launch the launcher but the game will not initiate--I get the following error:

Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000028 at address 0x781f3858. Do you wish do debug it?

The program then crashes whether I hit the No or Yes button.

The game was running fine until the Mavericks update.

I am running the game on:

15-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)

Since I had no trouble with Rubicon until this Mavericks update, I've made a separate post.

Well, for whatever reason, after a few hours of downtime, Eve launched just fine, so I don't seem to have a problem any more. Problem mysteriously solved.
