Merry Christmas from me too, to EVERYBODY...
yes even Insurance Fraud who hired Razor to destroy my toy.

So since we are all in a very festive mood and disected all the fancy yulelads toys (I just love the shuttle), lets get down to business and come up with new ways to make wormhole space more awesome. So on the HUGE Pile of EVE inDEV projects there is something that hasn't been touched for almost a decade and seriously needs some fixing, if you want to improve the quality of life in wormhole space.

Most of my enslaved forum readers know my issue with the current wormholes with condoms feature in short, it's not easy enough to traverse this space. So I bring forth two Ideas from the past, where one is still around but just a shadow in its existence....

The first CHANGE! would be the good old Multispectral probe. For those that dont remember, this was a probe before wormholes, you dropped it and all it did was telling you what sorts of strange stuff was in a system. This was good if you were hunting data sites. You dropped the probe and saw in 30secs that the 8 sigs were 4 gravs 2mag and 2radar without being able to warp to them. Okay it was just "one probe". So for todays age we would require a set of these with AU limitations up to 256au (deep space probes anyone?). This could actually help the big alliances alot in terms of rage rolling and looking for "swiss cheese holes"....(+ 5 connections + static)

The 2nd change inspired me to write this .. the multispec just came up on the way to this one ...
I WANT CONCORD BILLBOARDS in WORMHOLE SPACE! Why? Okay this is more of an Intense "minigame" based on an idea people are already doing.
When you jump into a Wormhole there are 3 ways of Identifying on the Hole who is living in the system.

Option A: The TCU
Some Corps are so full of themself they anchored a big shining beacon advertising their presence in this system, which is also a Trap. SO NEVER WARP TO THE TCU. Also i love it.

Option B: The PoCo
Show Info on the Poco and you know who is the big player in this system. In rare cases PoCos are interbus/non existent/ holding corps then you have to go to option C.

Option C: D-Scan the fudging tower down...
DO EET

So its very safe and easy to identify the locals, but it doesnt give them identity or character they can't decorate their turf.

So let's take the good old concord billboard and put one into every system, (NOT TO A MOON) as a warpable celestial. At this Celestial you can find the billboard itself with a custom note from the system occupants (occupy minigame) and an indestructable can named "Altar of the Wormhole God" where people can sacrefice Quafe and Prostitutes (15m in Jita). Of course you can layer that Billboard with bubbles and decloak traps. The maximum in cargo value can be 100.000m³.

Okay Bert where are you going with this?
Occupy Minigame:
From the Start there will be 1 Item with 1m³ "Concord Place Holder Item". Making it a default Billboard. If you put stuff into the Billboard Can you claim the "sacreficial Altar" and your Alliance / Corp Description gets put into the Billboard. Now the Visitors come, they can steal from that can. Now they got the contense of your Altar ... REVENGE. but at this point you have not really an incentive or urge to fight or put anything in that can. Well what about the Visitors have to put an Item into their Can first to unlock your treasures, so that Item adds to both Billboards the "Altar Raid Statistic". So next to your corp Description it shows the systems and corps you have been raided by or raided yourself, of course you can re-claim your honor by striking back at the altars of your previous raiders ... yaddi yaddi ....
To unlock a can you need a sufficent amount of time i would say its exponential to the value of the can. So 30 minutes - 6 hours (that would be a "Battleship") so 1 Timezone.

So you have a mechanic incl. a battlefield (maybe you want to defend your altar) with a short or long timer to get peoples interest, without the useless poco knocking, local talking and whatever other people use to get attention. (Wee-ing against the FF)

In the long term it would give you a leaderboard of the best and most vicious explorers... so a wormhole epeen and conflict ego driver.

I mean there is nothing else out here ... might as well go with the "non profit-conflict drivers"

Merry Christmas and a happy new K365
Bert

If you don't like the "Altar" call it "Advanced Network Analyze Lair"

I know right :)
but what can you take home from that? :D

The Idea is based on an engagement SUSU had with TLC a long time ago, basicly TLC was farming and SUSU stole their LOOTS. Which is fun when a small corp can "**** off" big guys, although i doubt that SUSU back then would have "killed a TCU" for giggles under Pos Gun Fire....and if you have the Man Power to tank the pos anyway .. might as well knock the entire tower over and stay...

Little "MAN UP Story":
A year ago SSC was so ballsy and claimed TCUs in other systems and learned two valueable lessons:
Kill TCU: over 300 Notifications
Adhoc TCU: after the connection was lost they just blapped it with dreads....

to make it clear... SSC anchored TCUs in their home...

Not worth it.

I like the probing thing really, really, REALLY much, yeah, helps a lot for us that rage collapse and things, and it's kinda logical, you would still have to scan things down to 100% to be able to warp to them.. Anyway that is on of the greatest ideas i heard recently, and yes i was reading all of your threads Bert.

The second idea, Hm, maybe, but the way it is now i don't like it really, but might like something like that, think about it and get some improvements on overall stuff like these ideas are, i like that you're trying hard, and most of the things you suggested yet i like and thought it would be cool to be implemented but maybe kinda modified or something, anyway good job keep it up.

All i m trying to do is keep people interest in the development and keep them spitting ideas towards ccp. So if you have "improvements" or ideas PUT THEM OUT! I do admit the altar idea has alot of unfinished edges but its a start to make people come up with their own ideas based on the copyleft principles :)

While bob probably approves of the second idea, ccp would probably have to modify it a little to involve less quafe and erotic dancers Big smile. I like the probe idea. Perhaps it should have a longer than normal scan time though? Also, would it map sig id's to their site types, or just give a list of different types of sigs?

PS: I'm glad the devs don't pay any attention to the WH forums when crap like this comes up...

I think we are all pretty damn sick of giving pages upon pages of mass ideas that never get followed through with or even acknowledged that they were read by CCP or a CSM, so i just revert back to trolling the **** out of you and your crazy ideas Bert.

Frankly I'm glad CCP dont take player suggestions seriously. I mean honestly, have you READ the crap that people post as 'legit suggestions' on the forums?

While i do agree half the threads are a complete joke even the ones started by the CSM reps end up getting us nowhere.

First idea is redundant and second idea is bad. And fyi Razor had nothing to do with it, don't make this a sec war.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.
