As someone not completely new to EVE, but still woefully uneducated when it comes to wormholes, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The explanation/backstory helped me a great deal, and set the stage for the final battle. That battle would have been incredible as a standalone, but when you're given the "what has gone before" bits, it gives it a lot more tension and drama.

Thank you for a very well done piece.

Awesome vid Big smileBig smileBig smile

I get tired after scanning for an hour or two, working out those wormholes was epic, I commend your dedication and resilience in that campaign.

The backstory was awesomesauce, the wormhole exploit discovery was just wow.

I have always held rooks and kings in the highest regard because of this video series.

I believe this shows that heart and soul Rooks and Kings aspires to be the best in eve in PVP.

Instead of hiding there tactics from the world they share it with everyone to make sure any competition they have can fight on there level.

As steel sharpens steel.

Respect.

i think there is a connection, especially to the demoscene part of fairlight. But i guess that will always remain up to speculations

You, sir, know too much, pity we'll have to kill you now...

Interesting to see

And this is the link to official RnK killboard's battle summary:

Ah, you seek meaning? Then listen to the music, not the song.

I'm honoured. Does your wife play Eve? One thing that has surprised me is how many people on forums and youtube have mentioned showing this to family or friends who don't play Eve.

If it helps gets even one person out of being in trouble for being in fleet too long, I'll consider the vid a success.

First of all, it was a pleasant surprise that several AHARM members on the forums, on Youtube and elsewhere commented on enjoying the video and saying that it was a fairly even-handed review of events.

The blog entry generally continues along this vein. It links some tower kills between Part I and Part II which I would have included if I had footage for, and makes an explanation for the Polaris no-show, which I accept and indeed the narrative did too (i.e. they are not afraid of a fight, since if they didn't show for this "they would surely strike back elsewhere").

But where I'd disagree with the Aharm blog is that it links two skirmishes not included in the fight and concludes the truth is relative. Actually, I think the truth in this case is not a vague or undefinable property but fairly quickly researched.

Both killboards give AHARM a negative efficiency against RnK both up to the time of Clarion Call 3's finale and indeed to the present day (including all towers, ships, everything).

So whilst there are skirmishes in the past that have gone AHARM's way, there are also skirmishes that go our way. For that matter, since the time of the final battle in CC3, RnK have lost only one combat ship, a Devoter, and killed various ships including 4 Lokis, a Bhaalgorn, a Proteus, a Navy Geddon and so on:

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10741079
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=9829558
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10719665

But stuff like this is not particularly relevant to a video because any conflict has kills like this, and over a long period of time both sides can point to skirmishes and ganks going their way.

What I could have included in the video was AHARM, after the fights in CC3, either leading or being part of a failed attempt by many alliances of a wormhole coaliton to invade Guillotine Therapy. But that would be a little unfair since AHARM may feel someone else in the group was responsible for that attempt failing and it would be unfair to blame one or other entity.

As a result, I think the events depicted in the video reflect the overall situation, efficiency, context, etc. fairly accurately - and, in regard to ignoring a potential epilogue with the coalition, even somewhat generously to AHARM.

(Btw, since I've mentioned efficiency... I don't think efficiency is, in any way, the be-all-end-all of a campaign, compared to events, morale, impact, etc. - I'm just using our overall efficiency here to justify that since a 20 hour movie would involve more RnK kills than RnK losses, not including every last skirmish on either side is valid)

AHARM have made a great opponent to Guillotine Therapy in Wormhole space and long may this continue. Having said that, I think that whilst both sides deserve credit for helping popularise wh pvp with a great war, the future of wh space in Crucible and onward will increasingly feature a larger number of groups regularly in the headlines.

I tried to pay tribute to some of those groups (e.g. Narwhals, W-Space, etc.) in the closing narrative. Though if I had my time again, I would also include excellent groups like Adhocracy and Aquila. The narrative was penned some time ago and they certainly deserve their place in any discussion of the future of wormhole space.

You've heard it 200 times before in this thread but once more won't hurt...

Absolutely phenomenal video, that goes out to the stellar pvp displayed, the dedication to see that conflict through along with the actual production of the video itself.

I seriously hold RnK in the utmost respect, kudos.
