I agree with op. I made use of the jukebox with reasonable regularity. Eve has some decent music. It also has quite a bit that I personally find meh. I liked having a choice of which music gets played rather than just turning it all on or off.

the JB wasn't as convenient as using win media player. You couldn't use the keyboard controls to skip/pause/play without tabbing out or bringing up the menu....

Only if you listen to the same songs in the same folder over and over. I could manage multiple folders with the Juke. This is one of the best tools in EVE, no need to mess with external apps, makes EVE less boring. A lot of subscribers favored it, even promoted some in the community to produce their own EVE style music (or some style) posting for download to play in the JB. So much more boring w/o it. I always kept the JB minimized on-screen up top.

I wouldn't notice improvements unless it was directly integrated into the market window where you could right-click auto add into the calculator. Maybe get a tablet? I do all that on my Nexus 7. I cant play music/audio through my bose system on my computer with my N7 though, but the EVE jukebox did.

What reason? That all code in the game needs to be constantly maintained. And maintaining the jukebox, which is arguably easily replaced by a third party app, takes away resources from the internet spacehips? Sounds reasonable to me.
