No, it's not just randomized T1 junk; no it's not something few people will use. It's free materials, free T2 stuff, free collectibles, free ISK and free AUR. How is it junk when it is all universally useful for anyone who redeemed it?

Or is it just that you, specifically, can't figure out what to do with it?

What were you expecting?
Stuff inline with previous years, novelty items, collectables ect.
So the exact same thing as we got this year, then.

Or are you just not familiar with what we got the previous years?

What on earth would have lived up to your unstated demands?
Exactly, I never stated demands, that's something you have introduced to this thread not I.
No, it's something you have had all along and which you've compared this stuff against to categorise it as “junk” — a categorisation that is meaningless without a useful point of comparison. Now that you've provided that point of comparison, we can conclude that you're simply wrong, which explains why you were so unwilling to give it up.

A shuttle (while it is special, and goes fast) is still a shuttle.
None of it is junk; none of it is random; all of it is useful; most of it is novelty stuff and collectables; the shuttle is the same kind of ship that we've been given on every other occasion. Your complaint is uninformed, self-contradictory, and nonsensical.

Not sure what to make of your certainty regarding the target area of theoretical irony pains.

I guess the "It's the thought that counts." has been phased out of today's society.

Just FYI:
the shuttle (it's still a shuttle)
the fedo (novelty/collectable)
::These are the only rare items that weren't in-game pre yule lads::
(these are cool, other than the shuttle being a shuttle)

+ launcher and snowballs

Tell me again how "most" of the stuff was rare/collectable

I take it you never actually looked at what the lads were that gave you the stuff, even if it was just semi-common commodities.

So, again, you got exactly what you were expecting, and a whole bunch of useful stuff on top of it. So your whinging simply doesn't make any sense even using your own stipulations.

It's a shuttle that warps faster than anything else in the game. Even after T2 hyperspatial rigs and the best implant combo (Ascendancy 1-5 and WS-618) an interceptor still only warps at 19.7 AU/s.

lolz ... until today only my main with interceptor skills could travel anywhere in a reasonable time and that required an interceptor with hyper rigs just to get 12 AU/sec. The shuttle is awesome for anyone with low skill alts :D

It's not clear what sort of more advanced ship could be handed out without being unbalanced in the hands of newer players anyway.

As for the "free publicity" to be honest all this talk of ISK destroyed and biggest space battles this year seems to have turned more people off EVE than anything else. The perception out there is it a game specifically aimed at antisocial psychopathic types who have no real life and just play EVE all day and act like hoods from some sort of street gang :D

Okay, I'll give you that. As a unique item to people with negative security status a rotten potato would be neat. Along with the good EVE players getting a unique and useless item in return (like that fedo, perhaps).

Honestly, I've seen these gifts over the last 13 days as akin to those cruddy presents you get from your co-workers, usually from some 'secret Santa' bullshit everyone thinks is cute. Yeah, they aren't really flashy or even anything you'd ever want , but it's the thought that counts. And I did like the 'Yule Lads' theme. As one of those Ignorant Americans (tm) I thought it was neat to learn a bit about how other cultures celebrate Christmas.

Geez guys. The shuttle is actually far better of a present than a lot of stuff we've get for a while. Much like Zephyr (and a lot unlike reskinned T1 frigs or something), it has unique (if a bit limited) functionality so it's useful, people will fly them, they will pop from time to time, it's still limited issue ship so chances are, its price will go up if ship's value is all you are interested in.

For example, Zephyrs were peanuts when I was new, now they are almost the cost of a BC.

It's a great present, I don't see what's wrong with it.

I do think that seeding a lot of collectables to let people exchange them (like it was last year) is, perhaps, one of the most interesting ways to handle gifts, but what we've got this time is not bad at all too.
Plus, I haven't know about Yule Lads mythos, and I do now. Btw, representations done by CCP guys were nothing short of great :)

Take 1 ship from everyone because of this douchebag?

I don't know, took part in all of them?

Wrote blogs/streamed the events?

Created content for players and viewers?

Pick one.

What content did you exactly provide? Did you put new ships in the game, or new anything for that matter?

P.S. Biomass yourself.
