the leopard was an interesting surprise but the rest of the stuff was simply market fodder ... only things i still have are the fedo and the drop booster ... oh and the worthless implant.... i would have been happy if we got the 2 new geno implants ..

limited edition with those implants are like pay to win...

for next christmas advent calendar perhaps we could get some useful items

oh and get something on christmas day would be nice.... unless you have something planned this year you haven't lead on about.

ideas for next year
- CQ items that are interactive or at least visible
- snowglobes you can shake
- christmas decorations. tree you can decorate perhaps, tinsel etc..
- maybe snow decorated ships / holo items
- snow fights!!! kind of linked to Avatar development ... maybe the year after by the time you start working on it again

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Nerf web strength, Make the blaster Eagle worth using

Three thumbs up out of two - Yule Lads are a happening thang. Play-acting CCP minions re-invented as goofy hapless scafes really worked for me. Beyond hilarious! I found myself looking forward to revealing what nightly trinkets were to be had at zero hour - that added to the seasonal entertainment value for the entire week and a half. The trinkets were great - varied, creative, interesting, and something for everybody. Who wasn't wondering what the denouement would bring, and what's there about the Leopard not to like? The movie was play-it-more-than-once genuinely clever, fun, and even memorable.

The whole schtick got me interested enough to find out that the whole Yule Lads thing is very much an actual, very real Icelandic holiday ritual. Fantasy firmly rooted in actual age-old tradition - a decided plus which added even more to the enjoyment factor.

Bravo. Well done. Do it again in 2014.

Oddly enough, I don't know a single person that was impressed by the gifts, or the ******** redeeming system that requires you to log into your management page, just to place the items in your redeeming cue. Most people didn't even bother to waste the time to redeem.

And CCP Alts ftw?

What do you expect getting 50x Warrior I as a gift? The point was not in the content of the gift, but the sharing of culture and seeing the people creating the game you play having fun, enjoying their job, and showing a sense of humor.

Thank you CCP for a holiday tradition EVERYONE can enjoy. It's nice to see a holiday event that doesn't bring out the "black santa" and "anti-Semite" scream-teams.

With that in mind, do you guys feel there was anything we could have done better, either to improve visibility of the whole thing, or maybe switch things up a little?

We are of course continually looking at the promotions we run over various holidays, and are actively thinking of how to improve them while not upsetting the balance of the economy in game.

If you guys want to provide ideas, constructive criticism, and suchlike, please feel free to do so in this thread and we'll take a look over it!

Loved the surprises, loved that everyone got something slightly different at times

BUT

CCP Please...

Give the new items to ability to be sold in the market, so easy, so infuriatingly dumb they they aren't?!

Special edition ships and modules that allow new players to compete on a level playing field for a few days...can't sold and turn to trash after the event ends..

Get people into pvp feel risk free for a few days without trashing the markets

Now that's an innovative idea!

Like the gifts myself :) I'm actually most interested to see if they'll do anything for the Yule cat

(Yule cat is a monster-cat that is said to come on Christmas after presents have been given, and devours people not wearing new clothes...Make of that what you will P. Might regret selling the clothes tomorrow... )

I loved the effort that went into the presentation. I don't really need any of the gifts that are already available in-game, but always love the special ships, and random unique items like the Fedo! I hope that we get another new type of firework as well, and think it is great that you can buy snowballs and fireworks!

The Yule lads were definitely an all around great idea for Christmas. They were funny, gave away some cool stuff, and were an awesome spin on gift giving.

In my opinion the Yule Lads were quite visible this year, especially when opening the in-game browser.

The only thing I can think of to help inform all players is maybe send an Eve Mail message in game to all subscribed accounts. The message from CCP could notify players about the Yule Lads Advent Calender as well as extend Season Greetings to all.

Anyway, here's my list of gifts from the 13 Yule Lads :

Quote:
Dec 12th = 1x Festival Launcher, 100x Snowball, 12x Long-limb Roes

Dec 13th = 1x Prototype Cloaking Device I

Dec 14th = 1x Fedo

Dec 15th = 50x Warrior I

Dec 16th = 2x Warp Core Stabilizer II

Dec 17th = 1x Synth Drop Booster

Dec 18th = 6x 150mm Light Carbine Repeating Cannon I

Dec 19th = 1x Poteque 'Prospector' Astrometric Rangefinding AR-802

Dec 20th = 1x Miner II

Dec 21st = 1x Prototype Cloaking Device I

Dec 22nd = 1x Womens Structure Dress (black/white), 1x Mens Esquire Coat (red/gold)

Dec 23rd = 1x Small Tractor Beam I

Dec 24th = 1x Leopard, 100x Snowball

Thank you very much for all of the gifts. As game providers doing this each year is definitely above and beyond the call of duty. In the past I've always looked forward to this tradition and I hope it continues for years to come.

In keeping with the Christmas Spirit it was nice to get the Festival Launcher and Snowballs.

Now I've seen a lot of strange items in my +5 years playing this game, especially while completing all of the Cosmos Agents for the 4 main Empire Factions. I honestly must admit that I don't remember ever seeing a Fedo before. That gift alone will probably end up being more valuable to me than all of the other gifts combined.

Seasons Greetings to all of you at CCP. I hope you and your families all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As I'd said in my other thread... if we're going to get gifts, at all, make them avatar items. This will eventually keep the Gimmie-Gimmie Clan from banging on garbage cans all through GD, multiple times a year, crying about how you guys are failing to cater to their sensitive spoiled bratty feelings.
I'm even willing to submit a bucket of sketchbook designs, free of charge, without being employed by CCP. I won't ask for a thing in return. Not even my obligatory begging for access to Jove technology.

Partly because I don't want to hear the whining anymore, but also because we don't have enough clothes and accessories for our space barbies.

Honestly, though... the whole Yule Lad thing was cool. I learned about another culture's traditions, and that was gift enough. I didn't even have to recieve anything along with the snippets of the story I got, every day.

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

Interestingly, that's almost exactly the same list of items as what I got. I wonder how many different items were in the prize pool.

I really appreciated the gifts.

The only thing might have been to tie it into something in-game (mission? exploration? ..?)

Simply getting presents is nice, but it is also to interact with the lads in-game would also have been great.

Give everyone a combat fitted Titan, the skill to fly it, remove the jumpgate restrictions and give Concord the day off.

Everyone has the goods for the course of one EvE day, then they vanish.

Think of the mass destruction!

Think of the ISK sink!

Think of the Plexes that will be bought and sold to rectify the damage!
