So I trade in fashion items across various regions and have buy orders in for certain items, the value of which lies in their general scarcity. My buy orders for two items were set at around 3 million to 6 million each, again across various regions.

Lo and behold I log in this morning to find every buy order has been filled and now I realize every account in Eve now has one of these 'rare' items therefore completely crashing the market!

So thanks to this nice gift you decide to give everybody I'm out of pocket to the tune of 200 million isk and stuck with a load of virtually worthless items, thanks for that one CCP!

Really? You lost 200 million ISK? I've lost that much ISK to the couch in my CQ. If you're that broke you can come shake out the cushions.

I still thing CCP should stick to giving out gifts that are new and unique and once an item becomes a traded market commodity CCP should refrain from affecting the markets.

Anyway I've had my early morning whinge, I'll get back to my RL Christmas present wrapping. Happy Christmas to you all.

The greatest thing about people mistaking my general demeanor for trolling is that when I know the solution to their problem, they ignore it.

Just do like every other "trader' is doing in Jita to make your money back now, buy a butt-ton of Minmatar Shuttles and spam "Leopards for sale CHEAP! 10 MIL!" and make it back in no time... Pirate

I am a bit surprised they would pick an existing fashion item rather than design a new one (especially as lack of variety is a common gripe about the NeX store anyway). And OP does have a point about fashion items not being destructible like prototype cloaks or probe launchers or whatever. That said, 200m is small pickins. Merry Christmas, etc.

Yes, but most importantly, the OP has a point about them not being destructible. Which they never were.
Picking an item that you know full well is only likely to increase in supply is just bad market selection for a long term investment.
The best investment in clothing is waiting until after times like now, buying them all up cheap as you can, then seeding the market at your price. But even that's generally a bad idea, since you could make far more investing in destructible items.

No, she doesn't

This is where her complaint falls apart, much like the cheap Minmatar-made knock-offs she's trying to pass as Amarrite originals

Yeah sorry for having a real life and not being able to be logged in 24/7.

there is your problem .... do you always blame others for your mistakes? not Yule to blame but look in the mirror and no warning was given on this day.
P.S. Apparently you need a little more in-dept understanding of the market before investing ... I'm sure you will make all the isk back in no time. Happy Holidays!

Do not waste time or money investing in something that is not destructible. You run the risk of having way more supply than you would be able to sell on the market. Not sure how much movement clothing has but further down the line, maybe some new players or resubscribing players that were not around for this will want your items. If you like trading clothes, do that on the side but have most of your money on destructible items.
